Audi Homelink Universal Garage Door Opener In A Nissan Pathfinder:

  In a previous post, I added a salvaged Audi universal garage door opener to my 2008 Audi A4. Hardwired universal openers are hard to find and very expensive, but buying an Audi sun visor opener on eBay and soldering in some switches is relatively easy. 

 In my wife's Pathfinder, I added the three switches and the led indicator to an existing empty switch cover and ran the opener under the dash to the center of the console. I put a foam can coozy around the electronics box to secure the opener in the dash above the air vents and keep it from bouncing around. I wired the 12v power directly to the fuse box below the switches, piggybacking on some other switched DC circuit.
