Would all you lovely tumblr people out there do me a big huge favor please? I would lovelovelove for you (antifeminists) to tell me what you think feminism is about. Be ridiculous and extreme if you want (i.e. feminists want to lace all men up by their testicles and flog them on the hour, every hour). I won't criticize your beliefs in any way, you can message me them if you want to remain anonymous. I am not trying to argue with people, I just want to know your opinions. Contemporary feminism holds that women, as a collective, do not possess agency of their own, and that all problems that women (and, if they’re charitable enough to acknowledge them, men) face are because of the Patriarchy, either by intention by or fallout of the system (the latter often the explanation when the topic is men’s issues). To mention that women might have some culpability for perpetuating the problems that they face would contradict this narrative constructed by feminists.

That’s basically the gist of it.

Really, it’s from this narrative that nearly the entirety of the feminist perspective originates— low numbers of women in the workforce? Patriarchy and female hypoagency. Wife winning most custody battles? Patriarchy (because, according to feminists, society holds that only women should bear the responsibility of raising children and not men) and female hypoagency. The draft affecting men unilaterally? Patriarchy and female hypoagency. The Patriarchy somehow existing unchallenged (even after two to three waves of feminism) for the near-totality of human existence? Patriarchy and female hypoagency. Ad nauseam.
