Set in the same universe as Honor Amongst Thieves, hear the story of Danai, a maid forced to step into a role she was never meant to play. A tale of love, self-discovery, and lore.

Synopsis:

A lady's maid is expected to be whatever her lady needs her to be.  As the personal maid to Princess Mithra, Danai knows this fact better than most.  She has spent her childhood being playmate, confidant, and servant to the princess, but when the princess shirks her duty, Danai will have to become the very lady she serves.  Now tasked with preventing a war, she faces threats in a new land, scheming diplomats, and falling in love.  Can she hold onto to who she really is amidst all of this? And can real feelings bloom from deceit?

I've been sitting on this for a while now. Months and months ago there was a writing competition for writing a web novel. I last minute decided to enter using a story from HAT lore, but I didn't make the deadline. So this languished forever in my drafts, but now I'm sharing it with y'all.

This is me practicing writing in a traditional novel format and also giving myself a break from branching. Don't worry, HAT isn't taking a backseat to this, but hopefully this can help entertain you between updates.

The first five chapters are available for my patreon members, including those that are free members! After that, paid members will receive access to chapters two weeks before free members.

Patreon Spotlight

I thought I'd take some time to highlight some of what's cooking on Patreon!

Currently, the advanced demo has been uploaded for my wonderful and patient patreons. In addition to that, I've posted part one of a short story focused on Sarai's past.

There are a couple of other goodies on there, like some very belated Halloween shorts featuring Sutek and Laverna. Backstories for Aretas, Merikh, and Sutek are up so far and there are also character conversations.

(And the perspective of a certain someone on the worst night of the main character's life.)
