My Controversial Harry Potter Opinions: Shipping Edition
- Hermione and Krum were in an actual relationship (as "actual" as you can get give the circumstances). Had romantic walks round the castle. Kissed a few times, not just the once. - It was a mis-step of JK to marry Lupin and Tonks. Their story would have been the same if Tonks got pregnant without them getting married. The wedding is an unnecessarily complication. - Hinny were having sex in HBP. - Bill and Fleur have a lovely relationship. They're supportive and sweet and stand by each other to. The other characters don't like them cos they're jealous, and the fandom don't like them cos their relationship doesn't have the drama of Romione, Remadora etc. - Hermione and McLaggen were more of a thing than Hermione lets on. I don’t think the Slug Club party was the only time he tried to kiss her, but I think it’s probably the only time she ran away from it. - Neville is gay. - The magical world is really old-fashioned regarding everyone settling down so young, and the fact that there appear to be no divorced couples, blended families, non-nuclear families, or couples who have children but aren't married. I find it very frustrating and dated, and it's especially odd given JK's personal life. - Ron and Lavender reached at least 3rd base. - Teddy and Victoire aren't an adorable "childhood sweethearts" couple. They spend a couple of years umm-ing and ahh-ing about each other, dating around, being friends with benefits, mucking about in empty classrooms. When James interrupts their snog at King's Cross, they're only casually dating. It takes another couple of years for them to become an official item. - The fandom loves to talk about how mean Ron can be to Hermione and ignore how cruel Hermione is to Ron. - Lupin's Pottermore bio doesn't fit with canon Remadora. - Ron and Hermione take a while to sort themselves out after Deathly Hallows. After 7 years of will-they-wont-they, arguments and jealousy, one snog in the heat of battle won't solve all problems. Tbh it probably causes more confusion and frustration. - Ginny and Dean had sex. Honestly I think Ginny and Michael might have been to. I know she's only 14, but if you reckon 14-year-olds aren't having sex then you need to wake up. - Hinny and Romione do absolutely NOT have a double wedding. - You can ship Lupin/Sirius and Lupin/Tonks. BISEXUALITY IS REAL. Most people have more than one romance in their lifetime! - JK had commented that George/ Angelina seems "quite unhealthy" but I think it'd be a very sweet and supportive relationship because they understand each other. - ....because I headcanon Hinny and Ron/Lavender were the least doing SOME naughty stuff, I think it's a bit dated that by the end of Deathly Hallows, Hermione, the girl, is the least serially experienced of the leads. But, well, that's what I think happened. - Tonks is straight. - I have no controversial opinions on Molly and Arthur, because there is nothing controversial about the universe otp.
