Stine Bramsen & Patrick Dorgan - Can’t Let it Go

I’ve posted material from Stine and Alphabeat on here before, but as usual she continues to outdo herself.  And paired with Patrick Dorgan, who has that raspy tenor popular in the 80′s, it’s even better.  I just wish the Danish would get some recognition in the States, because at this point everything on the radio is such boring, a-melodic, homogeneous, regurgitation, that I can’t listen to it even once.  Meanwhile everything coming out of Europe is fresh and original, or at least reinventing the better parts of a bygone era.

Dorgan grew up to the sound of old (as in the oldest of old) soul music which has given him a voice both raw, warm and intense. His lyrics have got a bittersweet twist and Dorgan likes to see his songwriting as his sort of emotional “painkillers”.

That philosophy fits perfectly well with the themes of his new single, ‘Safe Here’, which about the pleasure and pain of temptations in life.
