Forty Days of Frankenstein, Day Seven: This moody black-and-white full-page panel is from a Frankenstein graphic novel adaptation first published by Moonstone Books in 1989 (and reprinted subsequently at least twice). The quite serviceable, straightforward adaptation was done by writer Martin Powell, but it's the drawings by artist Patrick Olliffe that really make it pop. Here is the moment when the monster encounters his maker's younger brother by chance. Mayhem, of course, ensues. I like the insertion of a purely gratuitous kite which later makes for a dramatic panel. I'm pleased to say I have this book in my collection in a 2002 reprint.
Oh, Nelly!
