How I get in the Christmas spirit: reading books that take place around Christmas. Edited: December 27, 2017 Once again adding to a picture that I've already posted, mostly because I aleady put the book back on the shelf and don't feel like trying to get to the shelf to do another photo shoot with it. Anyway, I loved that Patrick Taylor kept me on the edge of my seat as I waited to find out until the last three pages of the book if Patricia Spence was coming back to Ulster for Christmas like she promised Dr. Barry Laverty. I sympathized with Barry as he became frustrated with Patricia for not knowing if she was going to come home or if she was going to go back on the promise she made before she left for Cambridge. I knew that particular kind of frustration, having been the recipitent of it from a previous boyfriend and from being the one becoming frustrated with a different boyfriend for talking about going back on a promise made to me. (I only hope I don't experience that kind of frustration with my current boyfriend or coming from him.) I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who has read the previous two books. It picks up a couple months after the second book, starting around the beginning of December and taking you up through December 26th, if you read the afterword from Kinky at the end, where she gives you a bunch of her Christmas recipes. It's a great way to get into the Christmas spirit and a great addition to the growing love stories between Barry and Patricia as well as Final O'Rielly and Kitty O'Hallorhan.
