i love these two so much you have no idea-

i started shipping them early on during the debut arc, i didn't think it would go anywhere but boy i couldn't be more wrong. when patrick called ricky his most indispensable person i was beaming. now they straight up call each other soulmates in canon (i feel like they're better in the most recent chapters after they started being more openly affectionate). i'd kill for more fanfics about them

i can see them as either romantic or platonic, but they're so devoted to each other i feel like if their feelings are platonic they'd want more of a qpr than an average friendship. that being said, i've seen fans be really weird about this, saying they're obviously straight and obviously "just friends" and that ricky obviously loves lou so much more than he cares about patrick and huh... i'm not saying they can't be both straight, but if they are, they still have something going on. honestly you'd have to willfully ignore huge portions of their canon interactions to portray them as your average "two bros chilling in a bathtub five feet apart cause they're not gay" like this portion of the fandom seems to want to

my girls, i love them so much!!! 🖤 if you've followed me for long enough you probably noticed that even though i still love emilikate now, i used to be absolutely obsessed with them back in the day. i even got my url from a kate quote talking about emilyko! their personalities just go so well together and they're so sweet to each other in canon, they give off "childhood friends who get married as adults" vibes imo 🖤🖤🖤 they totally have a mutual crush going on

i've read most of the fanfics i could find about them and i'd totally read more, there's so much to write about. usually their fics are cute and fluffy and sure i like that, but i feel like they have angst potential too! (for example imagine the pre debut arc told from kate's pov, taking into account that she has memories of outside the manor, that she met emilyko before, and that she knows emilyko has been brainwashed. see what i'm talking about?)

...before the backstory reveal, i used to headcanon them both as trans girls, but then we saw kate being named as a baby 🤡 i still like the idea though, even if it needs some adjustments to be canon compliant. maybe emilyko could be nonbinary while kate's a closeted trans boy, who knows. the possibilities are endless
