Hello all!

As we (on the East Coast of the US) start to ring in the New Year, I thought I'd throw you all an update!

Patronus Project preparations will be in full swing as soon as the semester at UVA starts back up on the 12th of January! With this full swinging, there will be more detailed news on what to expect and what we'll be doing. 

We'll be resuming character breakdowns next week. We'll do another two for you all for being so patient (Sirius is super please you all liked the James one so much. Positively giddy!). So get pumped for that. 

Stay safe out there and congrats to everyone who made it through another year, despite everything 2014 threw at you!

SOME THINGS:

1) We will be posting a Character Breakdown this week. We meant to post that we wouldn't be posting one last week, but that post saying we wouldn't post got saved to drafts and never made it to actual posting. Post. 

2) Belated THANK YOU SO MUCH to everyone who came out to the screening of AVPM like 2 weeks ago. The tumblr side of The Patronus Project is a little slow on the uptake.

Luna Lovegood entered Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry as not just the quirky character that we all love, but as a child who recently lost her mother. She did not find comforting arms in her group of peers; rather, she was constantly ridiculed for her non-conformist nature and strong conviction in her beliefs. Luna was mercilessly bullied and tormented by her peers, such as having her belongings stollen, having her beliefs and mannerisms mocked, and being openly referred to as "Loony Lovegood." Yet, Luna still chose to look on the bright side of things and believe the best in people. She never wavered in her beliefs, but found comfort and strength in her self. She fought valiantly in the Battle of the Department of Ministries, aiding in her friends' fight against Voldemort's Death Eaters. Her loyalty was infallible and she fought hard for her friends without losing herself or her head. She fought again in the Battle of Hogwarts and later went on to become a famous naturalist, cataloging many unknown species (that she always believed she would find) in the Wizarding World.

Sorry about missing the character breakdown last week. Life happened and we (Padfoot and Luna 1) got caught up in it. To make up for it, we'll be posting 2 this week!

Just a little note. . .

This blog is run by current and alumni members of The Order, UVA's Harry Potter Secret Society. We'll be sharing quotes, images, music, news, and a lot of other stuff relating to mental illness and the struggles associated with being a person.

Sometimes, specific members will share things and they'll always sign off with their Harry Potter character name. For example, Sirius was the one pushing for "Gravity" to be posted, so they left a little note. If anyone wants to talk, Padfoot is always around and quite a good listener. Inbox is open and as more members start posting, you can address them directly. 

WE WANT TO TALK TO YOU! That's kind of the point of this whole thing. So don't hesitate to message us!

That being said, we will also be the news source for the actual Patronus Project event! Details coming soon!
