how'd you get into euroshipping? any fic recs?

alrighty, anon, buckle right the fuck up

so honestly i’m not sure how i got into euroshippping? i probably came across a fic or two way back on FF or LJ but really i’ve always thought it would be a great pairing full of suffering and eye-rolling and painfully awkward attempts at the warm and fuzzies

so as far as fic recs, there definitely are more than i remember there being (which is to say, we got this ask and i went trawling through FF for one particular fic i rather like and was pleasantly surprised by the abundance of fic i found) BUT HERE GOES

@patxaran​ is god on high of euroshipping as far as i’m concerned, really. Pygmalion is a Grandmaster is by and away the greatest euroshipping fic i’ve read because it bunkers down and goes through the entire start of these two assholes having a relationship (i don’t know about you, anon, but ryou and seto are two characters that i wouldn’t really imagine to fall head over heels anywhere but to hell). and if you’ve opened that link and your eye’s started twitching at the length, LET ME TELL YOU that you’re going to start reading and then be so fucking glad it’s done so you’re not like me and gobble through thirty some-odd chapters and then wait on tenterhooks for updates like a plebeian. PIG is all finished and so you can suffer enjoy

(also while it’s more of a peripheral, “interpret it that way i guess, just disregard kitashvi’s shitbag isono/ryou comments” relationship, i would also recommend patxaran’s CCOW (the barnyard acronyms just sort of happen, as i’m told) because seto is an eternal fuck-up and ryou gets roped into fixing it)

and speaking of seto being a fuck-up and ryou fixing it, that brings you to another main rec (like i said, patxaran’s the god here, they’ve probably got way more) which is Superstitious by Paisleylace. i have a great and terrible love of practical craft!Ryou and an even greater love of eternally exasperated!Ryou, and this just rings all the bells. there is apparently a sequel that i have bookmarked to read but haven’t gotten around to it, though i have no doubt that it’s fantastic

and to wrap up, Hand Advantage by paradoxikay (who i believe is @aneroticporkcutletbowl on tumblr though oh my god if i’ve got the wrong person i’m sorry holy shit) is really good and again isn’t the kiss kiss fall in love sort of thing that i find very weird in euroshipping (because the only thing on this earth seto kaiba loves is “dueling” atem  the blue eyes white dragon  mokuba. obviously mokuba). HA is also very nsfw, by the by

so! i hope that was a good start! i’ve also got a euroshipping tag, though i think that’s mostly filled with my own bullshit euroshipping headcanons and ask meme replies
