This world cup was really crazy. At first, I wasn't really into it, but ended up watching most of the games ofc. And I'm really happy that Argentina won. Maybe even happier than I would be if Brazil had won (for political reasons that shouldn't impact football, but do). And it's ridiculous what some people are saying to justify not supporting Argentina. Like, it's okay if you don't, but trying to justify it by saying it's a "white country", "they are racists" (when they are playing france, lmao), or "they are not really part of the global south" (WTF) is just absurd.
As a Brazilian, yes, there's rivalry. I can't say I wasn't pleased when they lost to Saudi Arabia, lol, bc it was so unexpected. But it's a brotherly rivalry, y'know? We love to hate them, but also secretly admire them (for real, they fight more than anyone) and don't want anyone else to mess with them, if that makes sense. And especially against an European country, how could we not support them? South America now has 10 out 22 world cup victories and it's crazy that we are the only other continent besides Europe to win a World Cup. Also, the French are just too snob. I'd rather suffer four years of Argentinean jokes than watch France be world champion again, lol.
