When I saw someone on stage approaching Lestat I thought it'd be Louis but no it was Paul - so much more heartbreaking. I loved their little moment and how the birds communicated with Paul <3

I'm so glad, anon! And gosh, the beat with Paul destroyed me. Just the layers there in terms of Paul as a type of guardian angel, the way that that concept had already been threaded through the Clarence Odbody moment with the passport (Clarence Odbody being the guardian angel in It's a Wonderful Life), the way they talked about Louis meaning - to me - it doesn't matter if any of this is real.
Lestat knows that Louis hung Paul's portrait. He knows that relationship means something to Louis, who's his family, with Claudia. The one he made, maybe the only he one needs, wants, as everything with Gabriella buckles. Louis' his anchor, and in many ways, Paul's Louis', and all of that is rendered something complicated, which we see in that beat, but it also just feels so organic to me in a way that I didn't ever expect?
I've said a million times on here that a huge part of the book to me is Lestat's break-up with God, and one of the things I think this episode captured so beautifully is that Lestat abandons religion, but he's still fundamentally a Believer. He believes in his mother, in Armand, in Marius, and here, in the show, he Believes in Paul. No, more than that. He Believes in Louis. The icons Louis has on his wall - Claudia's dress, Paul's portrait - are the stained glass windows of the church that Lestat sits in the pews of as a believer. The love there is holy, just as the hate is, and it's important there that the beat between Paul and Lestat isn't really about Lestat, it is, truly, about Louis. His love defined - defines - both of them. And Lestat believes, in all of it, that Paul loved Louis enough to maybe love him too.

Since we all learned in the last super sweet Paul drabble what an amazing man he is could we get some facts about him and Ronnie during her pregnancy?

1. Ronnie had pretty bad morning sickness into the middle of her second trimester. Since the two of them were still in school, Paul bought her a box of those special lollipops for pregnant women to keep in her locker for between classes.
2. Paul went to school full time, worked Saturday and Sunday as a lookout for the Garden, and still found time to visit Ronnie whenever they could manage to find some time to see each other. Her parents were convinced he would lose interest but he didn’t.
3. Ronnie looked really lovely in those big flowy dresses topped with a fuzzy sweater. Her third trimester was through the winter (Tristan was born in early March) and she spent a lot of time clomping around in boots and big socks.
4. Paul bought thirty-six books over the course of Ronnie’s pregnancy. Ten were for her. The rest were for Tristan.
5. Tristan was born prematurely and Ronnie called Paul halfway to the hospital and told him she didn’t know how long it would take. He made a half-hour drive in less than twenty minutes.
"Tell me Pauly, I hear you're a ladies man, s'at true?" The woman with luscious red lips questioned, as a maraschino cherry tempted her mouth at the mercy of her own finger tips.
Paul turned, happy to hear a woman’s voice taunting him. This was his favorite hobby. Women. Red lips and a cherry? He smirked, “You can call it whatever you like, sweetheart. Ladies man, player... honestly I’ve been called every good name and every bad. But when you’re with me the only thing you’ll really be saying is ‘oh, god, yes!’,” he winked before walking back into the kitchen.
