Going Viral by Paula Kovarik.
Paula Kovarik’s quilt Going Viral embodies a triple meaning, the act of going viral on the internet by becoming some media sensation, the horror of a potential computer virus infecting software with problems, and the possibility of our own fragile bodies being infected with a virus. In her quit an anthropomorphized computer icon has threads spiraling out of it into an organic ball of coiled intensity.
Global Warming by Paula Kovarik.
Paula’s quilted abstraction of our mapped world unraveling with global warming even has bits of plastic shreds embedded into it’s surface and added as fringe on it’s end.
