SEA Games: Taekwondo jins capture 2 golds for Team Philippines
AFP Two Filipino taekwondo jins clinched gold medals after trouncing their respective opponents in the 2015 Southeast Asian Games Sunday in Singapore. Pauline Lopez weathered a late threat by Thi Thu Hien Pham of Vietnam, 20-12, to rule the women’s under 57kg category. The Filipina bet earlier Sonesavanh Sirimanotham of Laos, 21-2, in the semifinals. Samuel Morrison beat Trung Duc Phan also of Vietnam, 19-12, to capture the gold in the men’s under 68 kg division. Sailing also delivered a gold for the Philippines as Ridgely Balladeres, Rommel Chavez and Richly Magsanay topped their rivals from Singapore to win the male match racing keelboat final. As of Sunday 9:30 p.m., the Philippines has a haul of 28 golds, 35 silvers and 64 bronzes for a total of 127 medals. http://j.mp/1IEA16Q
