BR: The Spy by Paulo Coelho The book was a gift and I'll admit books given as gifts by people who know I like reading and assume they know what I like to read, well always leaves me a little skeptical. I'm a die hard YA fantasy, supernatural, sci-fi, chic lit loving kind off girl and Paulo Coelho doesn't fit into my idea of this BUT it shows how when you give something a chance you may suprise yourself. Told through the voice of Mata Hari herself we experience the journey of this brave, enigmatic woman trying to live a life ahead of her time. Though her story had a tragic end, we take from it her message of independence and freedom to live life on her own terms. It speaks to us as women in this modern world fighting for our rights. It may have been unconventional but where have we ever really got while following the norms ?
