Hey new followers! We have been working really hard on Ailuri these past few months. All the art has been updated! We also went to PAXAus last year.
Here are some screenshots of the first level you play in Ailuri. The artist will talk about the processes and design choices in an upcoming post.
We’ll be posting photos and moments from our amazing experience. We also have some exciting news.
Thank you everyone! All the support keeps us going!
Alexstrasza made a super brief appearance at PAX today!! I learnt very quickly that I am totally not Con fit right now 😂 (a solid 12 months not attending a Con or wearing costumes 🙄🙄) so I could sadly only hack just over an hour. It sucks epically but I’ll absolutely be working on building physical and mental strength so I can bring her out again, and get back into the routine of wearing heavy armor builds :) Alexstrasza costume made by me using foam from @theherostudio and Foam Clay from @luminsworkshop Based on the design by @zachfischerart for @jessicanigri ❤️ Pic by Cosmo @whitegoods ❤️❤️I’ll definitely do a shoot soon when I get back to Radelaide!! I know a tonne of people wanted pics and missed out, so I promise she will come out again! :D #alexstrasza #alexstraszacosplay #worldofwarcraftcosplay #paxaus2018 #paxaus #blizzcon2018 #dragonaspect #zachfischerart #jessicanigri (at Pax Aus 2018) https://www.instagram.com/p/BpeI__JDJoN/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=8bc8bxtia651

Overly Belated Retro Gaming Stuff from PAX Aus 2018
Every year, the Classic Gaming area has been one of my favourites, with all sorts of weird and wonderful gadgets being gathered and set up for free play by collectors, barcades, distributors and clubs. Here are some of the highlights I saw!
This one was super-impressive - an Atari Lynx, consolized with HDMI output, strapped into an old 2600 shell, and given a NES controller with some modifications for Lynx-specific buttons (so you can still flip the display if you want to for some reason). The games are very obviously lower-res than most old consoles, but the more advanced games like Zarlor Mercenary look surprisingly decent on the big screen!
A "Red Tent" Nintendo Vs. System arcade machine! These are pretty rare. The other side had Vs. SMB1 set up.
Speaking of Castlevania, here's a prime example of a MSX in action, running Vampire Killer, Konami’s weird flick-screen adaption of the original Castlevania.
This gussied-up C64 was running modern and homebrew games. This one is The Bear Essentials, a Jet Set Willy-esque platformer with wonderfully colourful graphics.
This device was real-weird. It was a Game and Watch-style thing but viewed through goggles to try and create a 3D effect. Surprisingly convincing, were it not for the fact that, you know, it was a Game and Watch game.
The pinball area was practically a mosh-pit, with three Actually New machines set up to try out. I got to try 'em all! Deadpool is great, with nice beat-em-up inspired visuals on the LCD screen, fun shots and modes, and Nolan North nattering away constantly. Houdini on the other hand has pretty weak artwork and some annoyingly gimmicky modes (lmbo let's swap your flipper buttons!) Also, the LCD animations are hilariously bad. They wouldn't have been out of place if they had asked me to Punch Houdini and Win $20!
Jersey Jack's The Hobbit had some fun shots, although the "hit the Ring button to change stuff" gimmick felt a bit useless. The LCD animations reminded me of a video slot machine, interspersed with HD clips from the movie.
WHAT.
And of course, what would a Classic Gaming Area be without THE SHELVES OF TAT?
Myself and my friend at PAX AUS this weekend with our Day of the Tentacle cosplays! We got a lot of love, it's one awesome adventure game. (Friend/Bernard knitted the tentacles herself!) Amazing weekend of fuuun.
Awesome photo by @photoswithag of my Alexstrasza cosplay! Costume made and worn by me, based on the design by @zachfischerart for @jessicanigri ❤️ Taken at @paxaus I’ve been spending the week getting stuck into Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and going back to work (😭) but I’ll try and pump out a few smaller costumes for the rest of the year :D I’ll be gearing up next year for the EPIC @projectebonblade group for next years PAX and as always, there will be WIPs!! #alexstrasza #alexstraszacosplay #worldofwarcraftcosplay #zachfischerart #jessicanigri #photoswithag #paxaus #paxaus2018 #dragonlady (at PAX AU) https://www.instagram.com/p/Bp6rfXznI2O/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1h0bfl5wlr538
