Harry was (sort of) confirmed to be playing Prince Eric in The Little Mermaid, and then quickly (sort of) unconfirmed, cue chaos, discourse, 'Prince Eric' trending on twitter, and jubilation and hair rending despair from various camps BUT THEN he was officially and finally confirmed (sort of) to NOT be playing the role! Directly after the post members of Harry's team posted cryptic related things (a mermaid, a Disney logo spoof) but shortly after that Variety, an actual reputable source of record for this sort of thing, published saying that he will not be playing the role and had in fact chosen to turn it down. They did not comment on whether he might take another role in the film: Flounder (and various mermaids) remain as yet uncast but I won't hold my breath.

We got more of the pap pics of Harry (and his bodyguards, both tall and [relatively speaking] smol) arriving in London; in these ones you can see that he's wearing a tote bag featuring the logo of LS, the production company who did the SOTT video, and that where the white sneakers he's been wearing all the time lately should have the Vans logo on the back they have what looks like little smiley faces... with Xs for eyes....

Niall said single at the end of September and album next year, first quarter of 2020s gonna be wild y'all. Wild Youth played the opening of the golf tournament tonight, and Niall did some press and was seen roaming around with his mom and his bodyguard for the night- it's 1D tour manager and beloved Thing 6 PAUL HIGGINS!! Awww hiiiii Paul!

Zayn tweeted to thank the fans for the Teen Choice vote, then posted the same official TCA pic to ig with a thank you message tacked on it carelessly, obscuring his face. The formality of the tweet initially had me thinking it was just a team member taking care of business but on reflection I absolutely think that was him and I adore his sloppy ass, bless this half assed obligation fulfillment, truly. They didn't even leave the story up for the whole 24 hours! Hilarious.

Team Louis otoh is going hard for the TCA award and appearance, with just about everyone from all his teams posting nice messages about it and articles everywhere... I am truly impressed with how much milage they're getting with so little Louis effort this last month, they're doing a great job of making it seem like he's everywhere and active while he continues to be, seemingly, mostly on break and BRAVO to that. 1883 chatted with fans about how great Louis is and said they'll be posting more Louis outtakes and continue to offer ever more of the pics as posters.

Liam commented on an Edward Enninful selfie, "oooo the cheekbones" with heart eyes and everything. Stack It Up is getting press focused on the Ed Sheeran collab element, and we're told that the video was shot in June and that the song will be out by the end of August!! Unless we see some action soon from Team Louis it looks like Liam's gonna be the first out the gate with the upcoming barrage of OT4 releases... Also he's got a thing in Men's Fashion Post but the quotes are all pretty boilerplate, nothing we haven't heard before and quite recently.

And if ALL THAT weren't enough we were snacked in the face OUT OF NOWHERE with baby boyband material from TWO (2) different people! John Urbano posted video bts throwback pics, an unseen from the Gotta Be You shoot and a familiar pic from the WMYB video, the one of Harry and the girl (Madison McMillin), with everyone else tagged too in it. All the other boys and the band are tagged in the empty sky space; Madison is tagged as Louis, lol. AND someone found footage of the boys singing in a gym from DAY ONE of the band! They sound ridiculously good already, Liam and Zayn getting in solid bits and Niall with a stunning standout solo- Louis and Harry don't get solos in the clip cause they're too busy batting their lashes at each other.

More Harry filming in Scotland, this time lots of clear pap pics. He's dressed up in some wild trippy sixties-esque fashion, as are some costars, including a man dressed as a vicar and a woman with really spectacularly surreal hair, and he was seen messing about with a fishing net. While music video director Vincent Haycock was seen on set in Cancun, a different MV director (Dave Meyers) was seen in Scotland, raising all kinds of new speculations (visual concept album??)... 1883 was just trolling talking about time travel but did they inadvertently give us a spoiler about Harry's new video(s)? Only time will tell, yuck yuck (jshhjjb sorry idek). For those still thinking it might be a gucci shoot- you can add to the other evidence against the fact that he's dressed head to toe in a straight off the runway look from Marni today.

Niall was seen looking travel ready at the airport in London, then shortly afterwards seen quite a lot more drinking with some friends, I'm not saying he's in Ireland but he could be in Ireland but LBR he could also be in LA, Timbuktu, or on the moon as part of his space watch sponsorship, I can't with these guys. Anyway they're getting drunk and posting videos of each others' earrings and such, and he posted a barrage of sort of un-recappable material, sorry idek, like some jokes and some promo and he dragged some folks, and he and Capitol Records had a bit of a social media lovefest.

Liam was papped in London and posted a short haired selfie, a video from the Villa Mix festival, and his copy of the new Vogue special issue/book thing inscribed from Edward Enninful to "my Liam".

1883 reports that the Louis cover of their magazine has sold out, and Pizza Hut, giddy at finally having gotten the attention of LTHQ with their Louis fan tweets, bantered with them and said they would be making a Tommo special, the Two Of Us: avocado and pineapple. Uh... yum? 😬

Liam has been added to the Madrid Coca Cola music fest, yes, the very same one Louis is playing!! It's a two day fest with separate ticket sales for each day (available now!) so the assumption is that they will put the boys on different days. Doubly exciting! He also enthusiastically sings us the new Ed Sheeran tune and tags Ed in to say "I'll be dancing with my son all day to this." A picture of Edward Enninful hugging him after the O2 show last night was posted with the caption 'proud father' (meaning Edward not Liam.)The shippy talk about those two was just dying off and honestly that caption should kill it the rest of the way but TBH I fear it has a slightly more... ambiguous... energy than was intended? Hmm.

Louis answered some tweets, telling us that he's 'proper excited' about Madrid, that he'll play one or two 1D songs there, that the title of LT1 is, "I think," just one word (this is consistent, he keeps saying he's pretty sure he's settled on the title but not 100% committing), and he laughs a lot and gives a firm no to the idea of dying his hair which is disappointing and yeah probably true but hey he did say the same about tattoos once upon a time! You never know what the future might hold Louis

Niall took questions and says that he is gonna finish his whole album before releasing any singles. He says that he doesn't worry about not being able to trust people due to his fame because he's a good judge of character, that yes he's planning on getting more patterned pants, "you're welcome", that Brexit is "a big sack of shite" (to the point and accurate frankly) and that NH2 tour will be next year. He took a fan pic in London.

Astute Harry pic analysts working hard on the photos posted yesterday point out that he still has a small hoop in his ear piercing, she remains viable and present. Meanwhile gucci sales are up up up thanks to Harry's participation.

Spotify has added A Whole New World to its Today's Top Hits list. No more different language releases of the song have been announced and some would like to know- seriously, no Arabic? Tsk. Talk about missed opportunities.

Liam stepped out to a private club in London where he hung out with Edward Enninful and Rita Ora, leaning into the new fashion!Liam persona. He wore an uncharacteristic but exciting brightly colored silky patterned blouse with flowers on it with the sleeves rolled up, left halfway unbuttoned, and if you're thinking something sounds familiar about that well so am I and I never thought we'd see the day. If we start seeing Liam in pussy bows and sparkly suits in a couple years, that's when I'll really be dead!

BFFs Niall and Lewis Capaldi flirted (like BROS) across various social media platforms, Niall wished Olly Murs a happy birthday with a pic of the two of them (quoth my favorite commentator, oh look dopplebangers), and we got a picture of him at a wedding looking every inch the self possessed rich young heartbreaker he is.

Meanwhile the Strand bookstore made the unfortunate decision to share details of Harry's book purchases, which I will pass on doing. It's not hard to find on here if you need to know, but if he wants us to know he'll get papped displaying the covers.

Fashion Liam is making the scene in Italy, getting photographed left and right, at the Colosseum, at parties, sandwiched in next to Idris Elba in the front row at Milan fashion week in what looks to be a ridiculously small chair and hanging out with pal Edward Enninful at his Versace hosted birthday party. He also posted this morning about being woken up by an alarm that didn't make any noise but simply said "alarm" which made me laugh an unreasonable amount tbh.

Louis was photographed with fans while having a night out at a London ping pong bar, undoubtedly kicking everyone's asses thanks to all those years of backstage practice. The label switch is getting lots and lots of press, and it's confusing because some articles report that he's still on Syco and others report that he's left Syco but I'm pretty sure they're all just recapping the Variety piece so it's not that they know something, just how they read the vague wording of that article.

Vogue is ramping up Met Gala hype, but no actual news.

And Niall went to the downtown L.A. wedding of someone who is a good friend of both his PA and of Selena Gomez (and of Niall's presumably). Quick question, what's the etiquette of showing up to someone else's wedding looking that much like husband material? I feel like it's gotta be a faux pas.
