This is the art that I did for a fic by @softdanielandphilly for the phandom big bang! I decided to do a dance because I felt like I could express the emotions of the story better in this way. I used to be a competition dancer in high school but haven’t danced in about a year so I’m a bit rusty, but I like this anyways! Go check the fic out!
A/N: It’s finally f*cking done, good lord. Well hasn’t this been a journey. Juggling this fic as well as my GCSE revision and school has been an emotional whirlwind but I’ve worked with the best people. For starters, my co-author and also one of my best friends, @analester, has been a godsend for the entire time I’ve known her so go send her some love (also her blog has the first part).
Our Beta, @phandomestic, has been amazing and helpful and just brilliant. Go check her because she’s fantastic.
Our Artist, @darklight-phan, is incredibly talented and just a fuckin great person. I’m so thankful for her hard work and dedication.
Without further ado, I present, part two of You Stole
The house was quiet as Phil entered. He felt as if he had to sneak into his own house, afraid that one wrong move would summon Kathy and she would smell Dan on him. He toed his shoes off and walked into their lounge, where Kathy was sitting on one of the couches, one leg crossed over the other, her eyebrow raised expectantly. Phil almost laughed out loud because of how often he has found himself in this same position.
“And where do you think you’ve been?” Kathy questioned, her fingers tapping against her crossed arms.
“Since when did I owe you an explanation? You’re supposed to be my wife, not my mother,” Phil snorted, mirroring Kathy’s actions by crossing his arms.
“Since you married me. How am I supposed to know you weren’t off cheating on me or something?”
Phil’s heart slowed down, almost to a halt as the words left Kathy’s mouth. There’s no way she could’ve known about what Phil was doing. Phil’s face remained completely unfazed and his lips turned up into a smirk.
“Do you not trust me anymore, Katherine?” Phil asked, using her full name to despise her.
“I actually don’t, believe it or not, Philip,” she retaliated, standing up from her seat. She walked over to him with anger in her eyes and Phil was surprised that she didn’t hear the loud thudding from coming from his heart.
“Well, I was out on another walk, if you must know,” Phil sighed, taking a step back away from Kathy. Kathy’s eyebrows stopped furrowing and an apologetic expression took its place.
“Oh, I’m… I’m sorry. I haven’t been the best, and I bet work is stressing you out. I’m sorry, baby,” Phil cringed at the nickname, but faked a smile nonetheless. He craned his neck down to capture her in a short kiss before excusing himself from the room.
He was surprised that Kathy hadn’t followed him, but now that he was alone, he was able to properly process what just happened.
He met Dan.
He went back to Dan’s dorm room.
He paid Dan for sex.
It was admittedly the best sex he’s had in awhile and they didn’t even really do anything.
He walked into the bathroom and stood in front of the mirror. He swore he could see bags under his eyes magically appear, guilt written clearly across his forehead. Splashing water, Phil found, was something that couldn’t wash away the way he was feeling. He actively slept with someone that wasn’t his wife and by no means did he regret it in anyway. He barely had sex with Kathy anymore and any thought of having to see her naked made him physically sick.
But Dan.
Dan was something else. Something that Phil couldn’t stop thinking about no matter how fucking wrong it was. He was married, yet he voluntarily signed up to be a sugar daddy.
For a second, Phil pondered if what he did was a mistake and if he should actually make an effort to fix the marriage that he committed to. But then his mind tracked back to what happened in Dan’s dorm and how good he felt during it, how sated he felt afterwards, how he didn’t even think twice about doing it until he started staring at himself contemplatively in the mirror. Maybe this wasn’t a mistake. Maybe this was the universe’s weird way of telling him that he wasn’t in the wrong.
A knock on the door followed by a voice broke him from his thoughts and he turned to open the door.
“You’ve been in there a while. ‘M just checking if you weren’t hunched over the toilet dying,” his wife laughed, scratching the back of her head and Phil realised that that was a trait she picked up from him.
“I’m fine. Thank you for your concern,” Phil gave a laugh in return.
“Thought we could switch things up and we ate dinner together for once. That okay with you?” Kathy asked, sweetness lacing her voice.
Phil kept himself from raising one eyebrow and staring at her as if she was crazy, because honestly, it seemed like she was. She was always the one picking the fight. Why the sudden change in attitude?
He gives a tight smile and a loose nod before following her to the kitchen.

Sunday saw Dan reminiscing on how Phil walked out of his doom room, hair dishevelled and cheeks still flushed. It sent a rush of pride through him thinking about how he did that to Phil. How he made a man who was over ten years his senior weak. He’d been expecting himself to freak out, to call the whole thing off with Phil because, let’s face it, after what it took to actually agree to the arrangement, it wouldn’t surprise him. He was relieved when nothing but relief and happiness was on his mind.

Monday was, as Monday’s usually are, dull and tiring. It wasn’t helped by the fact that Dan couldn’t stop staring at the clock, wondering where Phil was and what he was doing. Every time his phone buzzed or alerted him that he had a notification, he wrestled his phone out of his jeans’ pocket in record time, earning a fair share of looks from his friends. It was Chris who finally confronted him.
“Okay, spill,” he snapped, eyes alight with mischief in a way that Dan knew despite the tone, he was only teasing. It still didn’t stop the deep blush that spread across his cheeks and down his neck.
“I-um-I bought a new game,” he tried, the statement coming out as more of a question, voice rising slightly at the end which did nothing to help his blush. Chris nodded sarcastically.
“Yes, Dan. A game. A game can make you that excited for any notification. Must be some game, might have to get it myself. Mind telling me the name?” Chris asked and Dan resisted the urge to hit him, instead blushing brighter and burying his face in his hands.
“Probably just his sugar daddy,” PJ piped up and Dan groaned, the blush spreading to his entire face. God, he hated his friends. Chris squeaked, which was totally something Dan was gonna tease him for later, and stared at Dan with wide eyes.
“You-you actually took my advice? Oh my God, you’re even stupider than I thought,” Chris laughed, throwing his head back and clasping his hands.
“Shut the fuck up. I need the money,” Dan whined, finally removing his hands from his face but still avoiding eye contact.
“So, I take it you called him?” PJ asked, sitting down next to him and slinging an arm over Dan’s shoulders. Dan nodded slowly, a smirk playing on his lips.
“Yeah, on Wednesday. We agreed to meet in a cafe last Saturday and…” Dan tailed off and Chris wiggled his eyebrows while PJ gaped.
“You actually did it, Jesus, Dan,” PJ said and Dan blushed again.
“You fucked your sugar daddy!” Chris exclaimed loudly and Dan shushed him loudly, blush darkening as he looked around to find a few people staring at him.
“It wasn’t like that. I mean, sure, he paid me but we didn’t- not fully anyway,” Dan mumbled, pulling a thread on his jeans and biting his lip.
“So what, you blew him?” Chris asked and PJ leant across to slap his shoulder.
“No! I-we just kinda- I don’t know,” Dan said, not willing to explain the details to Chris.
“He means they probably gave each other hand jobs,” PJ clarified and Dan groaned.
“Thanks for that, Peej, really great friend,” Dan complained and both Chris and PJ laughed.
“Hey, it was your idea to get a sugar daddy, don’t think we’re not gonna tease you for it,” Chris said and Dan shut his eyes, shaking his head.
“I really hate you guys sometimes.”

Phil was barely awake when he felt lips against his. They were soft and delicate and he groaned, now fully awake.
“Kathy-“ a kiss cut him off, “What are you-“ another kiss, “What are you doing?”
“It’s been a long time and maybe all of our fighting is just unresolved sexual tension,” She breathed hotly, connecting their lips once again. Phil had never felt the need to throw up so fast until now. He lightly pushed her away, sitting up before rubbing his eyes and putting on his glasses. His stomach was in knots, his head pounding as he tried to control his breathing. Kathy couldn’t be more far from right.
“I’m not in the mood,” Phil stated, scratching the back of his head in frustration.
“You’re never in the mood,” Kathy mumbled, sliding out of bed and getting changed. Phil watched curiously as Kathy began putting her makeup on.
“Where are you going?” Phil asked.
“Oh, like I owe you an explanation,” Kathy retorted, lightly applying lipstick, smacking her lips as if to tease Phil. Phil resisted the urge to roll his eyes and he waited patiently for her to leave.
This was the perfect opportunity for him to contact Dan again, especially since he barely survived without him after the first time. Every time Phil began to think about it, he was in the shower, jerking off to the thought of Dan’s face, his noises, and the way he felt against him.
“See you later then,” Phil almost laughed as he heard the front door slam shut. He doesn’t know why they even bother staying together if this is how they are more often than not. It occurred to him that he was essentially cheating on his wife, but it was like they weren’t really together. He shoved that thought deep into his mind before he dwelled on it more as he pulled out his phone, typing a message before hovering his thumb over the send button.
“Hey, I’m a bit bored and I don’t have any work today surprisingly. Would you like me to come over? - P.”
He held his breath as he tapped the send button, quickly locking his phone and then got out of bed. His stomach growled and he placed his hand over his stomach. He pressed his lips together as he looked around the kitchen. None of the food that they owned was appetising enough for Phil to eat as Kathy had bought food in attempt to keep their lifestyles healthy. Their pantry and fridge was littered with vegetables and granola bars, and honestly, Phil just wanted Frosted Shreddies.
A chime from Phil’s phone broke Phil’s thoughts away from his breakfast dilemma and he ran back into his room, mentally scolding himself for acting like a teenager desperately waiting for their crush to text them back. His lips tilted up into a smile as he read Dan’s message.
“ofc, i’ll be in my dorm all day. drop by around 1? -d.”
It was already midday when Phil checked the clock. Deciding that he couldn’t eat anything they had here, he got dressed and headed out the door in search for food.
***
Phil found that he was a tad early arriving at Dan’s Uni, so he took his time walking to the dorms. It was full of university students hanging around, laughs falling easily from their lips. Phil remembered when he first met Kathy. They were in Uni. She was beautiful and shy, never once frowning. Phil remembered asking her out on their first date and all of the countless times they would sneak out after curfew to steal kisses just for fun. Phil remembered after graduation that he asked her to marry him spontaneously and how she said yes with no hesitance at all.
He wished that they were still like that, but looking back on it, maybe it was the whole thrill of the moment. Kathy was a person that he thought he loved because she was there. She was a distraction from other people, mainly boys he’d been eyeing, and toxic thoughts. Perhaps she was a case of misplaced feelings and it didn’t really occur to him until after they settled back into real life. It was like he convinced himself so much that he mixed up feelings.
With thoughts flooding his head and a pit forming in his stomach, he decided that he didn’t want to think about her anymore. He was in front of Dan’s dorm before he knew it, and he was ready to forget all about Kathy. He knocked on the door twice before stepping away, not wanting to be so close to Dan when he answered.
“Phil!” Dan exclaimed when he opened the door, grin playing along his mouth.
“Hey,” Phil smiled warmly, stepping inside when Dan gestured for him to come in. “Can I kiss you?”
Dan blinked twice, the spontaneity of the phrase throwing him back.
“Um, sure,” was all he answered before he felt Phil’s lips on his, kissing with urgency. He melted quickly into Phil’s arms, feeling as Phil’s hands roamed his body. It surprised him how easy it was for them to start, especially after last time, but he wasn’t complaining. He smiled into Phil’s mouth as Phil’s hands made it to his bum, squeezing gently.
Grabbing Phil by the collar of his shirt, Dan began pulling him towards the bed, little moans leaving his mouth as Phil massaged his ass. One of Phil’s hands made it to the front of Dan’s sweatpants and he gripped lightly around the outline. Phil pulled away from the kiss and moved up to Dan’s cheek and then ear. He nibbled lightly at Dan’s earlobe, eliciting a whine from Dan.
“Want me to blow you?” Phil asked huskily, tongue tracing over Dan’s earring. He felt Dan nod and he connected their lips again before moving down Dan’s body. He took the hem of Dan’s shirt and pushed it upwards, mouth closing over his nipple as Dan worked to take off his shirt.
“Fuck, please,” Dan begged, bucking his hips into nothing as Phil swirled his tongue around his nipple. “I wanna see you too. I wanna blow you too.”
An idea appeared in Phil’s head and he smirked, “I think that can be arranged. Let me help you first though.”
Fingers played with Dan’s waist, soft sighs and gasps filled the air as his sweatpants were worked down. Under his boxers Dan was leaking, a dark patch forming just at the top. Phil licked his lips and his eyes locked with Dan’s. He mouthed over Dan’s bulge and Dan couldn’t help but thrust his hips farther into Phil’s mouth, loving the delicious warmth that Phil was providing him.
Once Dan was whimpering, Phil took the top of Dan’s boxers between his teeth, slowly dragging it down and over Dan’s cock. He didn’t even blink when he closed his mouth over the head, tongue running through the slit.
“Ah, fuck, Phil,” Dan moaned, mind completely blank as his fingers grasped Phil’s hair. Phil smiled around him and started to bob his head, moaning lowly every time Dan hit the back of his throat.
“Fucking close, please,” Dan whined and then Phil pulled away, wiping his mouth with the back of his hand.
“Not yet, my turn, babe,” Phil smirked as he looked at Dan. He looked totally fucked out and desperate, begging to come with his eyes.
They switched positions, Phil now on his back and Dan in between his legs. Dan’s hands work to pull off Phil’s jeans and boxers, not even stopping to tease him. He was needy, cock throbbing in between his legs, and he decided to grind against his sheets. He took Phil’s length in his mouth, sucking lightly and moaning when he tasted the precum bubbling from Phil’s tip.
“Your fucking mouth is so good, Dan,” Phil praised and Dan dug his hips farther into the mattress, attempting to match the pace he was making with his mouth. Dan let out a high pitched sigh, the feeling to come burning in his stomach.
“You look like you need help there, Dan. Let me help you,” Phil said lowly as he flipped their positions again. Dan’s cock was in Phil’s mouth again in a matter of second, reducing Dan to broken whimpers of pleasure. Phil shuffled so that he was hovering over Dan’s mouth and he pulled off to say, “Help me too, babe, please.”
Dan’s mouth opened obediently and Phil slid his length in. Something about the position they were in made them both needy and soon they were thrusting into each other’s mouths, moaning in unison. Dan’s eyes were transfixed on the sight of Phil taking his length, and it made him thrust up a little faster.
Every time Phil dipped his head farther down, he could feel Dan’s mouth around him move faster with some sort of urgency and Phil was having a hard time thinking straight. He felt Dan’s throat flutter around his head and he was sent over the edge, nearly gagging on Dan’s length. Dan worked to swallow his cum, craning his head up to take more of Phil’s length before he couldn’t anymore. There was still a little bit left, so he reached up to work Phil through his orgasm with his hand. He couldn’t get over the fact that Phil’s cock was huge and couldn’t wait for the day when he would be able to take it all.
“Close!” Dan choked out after he pulled off of Phil’s cock. Phil began to swirl his tongue around, tongue collecting the precum before bobbing fast. He made it back to the tip, where he started to suckle, and Dan elicited one more whine before spilling into Phil’s mouth. He rode out his orgasm, thrusting into Phil’s mouth a couple more times before it started to feel overwhelming. Phil pulled off and moved so that he was facing Dan again. He pressed his lips on Dan’s, smiling and feeling completely content with where he was right now.
“I’ll give you your cheque before I leave, but I’m feeling sleepy,” Phil yawned, sitting up and stretching. “Are you a cuddler, or would you rather I take off now?”
“Please stay,” Dan frowned, shuffling over and pulling his duvet back to make room for Phil. Phil smiled and got into the bed, arms wrapping around Dan tightly. Within a matter of seconds, Phil drifted to sleep.
Dan couldn’t help but think about how secure he felt in Phil’s arms. He felt in peace with himself for the first time in a long time. Phil was pressed up against him, breathing lightly against his head. Dan placed his hand on top of Phil’s, fingers lacing together and he fell asleep, a light smile playing across his face.
***
Phil woke Dan up before he left, exiting the dorm but not without a quick peck to the lips. His face wore a permanent smile as he made his way home.
The house was quiet when he entered. He walked to the bedroom, only to find Kathy packing her clothes in a bag. The smile on his face dropped, his whole face changing to one of confusion. His heart stopped momentarily, thinking about that this might be the end.
“What are you doing?” Phil asked staring at her for what seemed like forever.
“Taking a break,” she replied, “away from you.”
“Gee, thanks, Kathy,” Phil tried hard to keep the smile off of his face.
“It’s only for a couple of days, though I doubt you’ll miss me,” Kathy rolled her eyes and finished packing. Phil laughed nervously and watched as she gathered her things and head towards the door.
“You’re leaving so soon,” Phil stated, leaning against the doorway, not moving to stop her.
“Can’t miss my train now, can I?” Kathy teased, pecking Phil’s cheek just to spite him.
We really do have a messed up marriage, Phil thought to himself. The door slamming brought Phil out of his thoughts and his hand automatically made itself to the phone sitting in his pocket. It occurred to him on the way back to his house that the last two encounters that they had were at Dan’s dorm. He didn’t want to feel like he needed to hide Dan, even though that was essentially what he was doing.
He wouldn’t have even considered inviting Dan to his house if Kathy hadn’t left not even two minutes ago. He discarded that thought before he mulled over it for too long. He pulled his phone of his pocket and texted Dan.
“Hey, I know it hasn’t even been a couple hours since I’ve last seen you, but do you think you could come over tonight? -P”
His phone chimed not even a minute later.
“i would love to. text me the address? x -d.”
Phil’s thumbs flew across his keyboard, typing out his address and hitting send. He tidied up his house and ordered pizza, the smile that Dan always seemed to put on his face never fading.
***
Dan arrived about an hour later, a duffle bag full of movies, a blanket, and a change of clothes. Phil joked that he wouldn’t be needing the clothes, making Dan blush and giggle.
Their evening consisted of cuddling and being completely infatuated with each other. Dan seemed so happy with where he was and Phil felt as if that evening was perfect. They didn’t need to worry about school, or work, or in Phil’s case, a wife. Phil felt fully immersed in what was happening with Dan and he loved the feeling of him in his arms.
He never wanted to pull away. He wanted to keep Dan in his arms forever.
Soon, Dan fell asleep, head lulling against Phil’s chest. Phil chuckled quietly, opting to carry Dan bridal style to his bedroom. He tucked Dan under the duvet before going under himself.
“Mm, Phiw?” Dan mumbled, snuggling as close as physically possible to Phil.
“Yeah, Dan?” Phil said, trying to suppress a giggle.
“You’re warm,” Dan sighed before his breathing evened out again. Phil smiled and pressed his lips gently on Dan’s forehead before falling asleep himself.
***
It was around 4 in the morning when Dan woke up, finding himself engulfed in Phil’s strong arms, bodies pressed against each other. Phil’s breathing was against his neck and Dan felt his heart speed up, everything around him starting to get hot. His eyes closed as he let out a little whimper before realising that that might’ve woken Phil up. He held his breath as he turned to look at Phil, who let out a low groan and turned so that he was facing the side away from Dan. Dan watched Phil’s back expand and contract, noting that it was doing so in a steady rhythm.
Dan let out a shaky breath and took that opportunity to recover from what Phil was unintentionally doing to him, but his cock was already semi-hard and he knew he couldn’t resist the urge to get himself off right then and there.
It’s not like Phil hadn’t seen anything before, he reasoned with himself, not even noticing that his own hand was making it to the front of his sweatpants. He grasped the outline lightly, eyes rolling back, heart beating loud and fast. He felt Phil shuffle a bit before settling again, and Dan bit his lips in attempt to hold back his noises.
Soon his hand was in his pants and he was stroking at a moderate pace. He didn’t want to risk taking off his pants in case Phil asked him to stop. It made it so much harder, however, and Dan was having a hard time keeping still. Every time he pulled on his length, his thigh muscles would tighten and his toes would curl, and it was like he couldn’t feel anything but that.
He hadn’t even realised that his eyes were closed and he was emitting soft, broken noises until his eyes were opening again. He shut his mouth immediately and turned his head slightly to see if Phil was awake, and his eyes met Phil’s dark, lusted ones. His face flushed red, but he couldn’t find it in him to take his hand away from himself.
“You look so hot, Dan,” Phil said, voice low and still laced with sleep. Dan whimpered again, twisting his hand around his length and running his thumb through his slit. “Let me see all of you, babe.”
Dan didn’t hesitate when his other hand worked down his sweatpants, and Phil noted that he didn’t wear boxers when he slept. That information may or may not come in handy in the future. Dan threw his half of the duvet off of him, moaning out loudly now that he didn’t have to hold back. He started thrusting into his hand, his other hand reaching to tug at his hair. Phil licked his lips and marvelled at the sight, his eyes glued at the way Dan’s hips snapped up into his hand.
“Close,” Dan mumbled, his face flushed red, sweat dripping down his forehead. He felt slightly embarrassed that Phil was just watching him, but the fact that he wasn’t doing anything but letting out noises of encouragement made all the hesitance that Dan had dissipate within seconds.
“Go ahead, babe,” Phil groaned, his cock throbbing at the sight. He placed a hand on top of it and pressed down to release the pressure. “How bad do you want to come?”
“So bad. Phil, please.”
“Do you think you deserve it for being a good boy?”
The nickname sent Dan over the edge within seconds, strings of cum covering his palm. His hips kept jerking into his hand, his voice cracking as moans spilled out of his mouth continuously. Something in Phil’s mind flipped and he quickly reached out to close his hand over Dan’s. Phil moved his hand to help Dan through his orgasm, but as Dan came down, Phil didn’t remove his hands.
In fact, he kept going, pushing Dan passed his limit.
His thumb rubbed against Dan’s head repeatedly, causing Dan to squirm. Dan didn’t know what to do with himself, his hands moving everywhere from tugging his hair to gripping the sheets. He wanted to thrust into Phil’s hand, but pull away at the same time. He settled on bringing his legs up into fetal position in attempt to stop the sensation, but inevitably failed as it started to melt into pleasure again. He couldn’t comprehend the way he was feeling, fully aware of everything, but a giant messy haze simultaneously. His brain went completely blank, his eyebrows furrowing as he tried to make sense of what was happening to him. He loved it, god he loved it, and he asked himself why he didn’t come up with it in the first place.
“Too much, ah!” Dan cried out, putting his hand on top of Phil’s. His hand started to guide Phil’s, silently telling him to stroke faster.
“Does it feel good, baby boy?” Phil teased, crawling in between Dan’s legs to take his cock into his mouth. Dan was half hard again, cock twitching every time Phil bobbed his head.
“So good, thank you,” Dan whimpered, the tight heat taking him to his second orgasm.
“So good for me, Dan. You’re so beautiful. Everything about you is so beautiful,” Phil pulled off before praising and Dan threw his head back every time Phil encouraged him.
“Ah, fuck,” Dan moaned, spilling into Phil’s mouth. Phil pulled off smirking with glassy eyes, fully aware that he was still hard. “Do you need help?”
“Yes, baby, I do,” Phil said as he moved to sit against the headboard, Dan straddling his lap. Their lips connected, Dan’s fingers running through Phil’s hair. Dan ground down, knowing that Phil needed friction. Phil’s lips moved down to kiss at Dan’s neck, and Dan melted under his lips.
“‘M tired,” Dan smiled stupidly at Phil, brain still foggy from his orgasm, but still wanting to get Phil off. Phil’s lips curled into a frown, but quickly disappeared as Dan pressed his lips to his and moved down to settle in between Phil’s legs. Phil’s boxers were pulled down and his cock was in Dan’s mouth. If Phil had the option to receive a blowjob from Dan everyday, he wouldn’t stutter saying yes. Dan’s mouth was perfect, and he was nearly there to taking all of Phil’s length.
“Babe, I’m gonna come,” Phil choked out and Dan worked to suck harder. Dan’s eyes flickered up to meet Phil’s, eyes wide and innocent. Phil moaned out before giving Dan one last warning, releasing in Dan’s mouth.
Once Phil came down, he laid down, Dan placing his head against his chest. A ray of the sun shined through the window, catching Phil’s eye.
“Oh my god, the sun just now came out and I’m tired again,” Phil chuckled, pulling the duvet over the both of them. Dan giggled, blushing lightly as he realised just how close his face was to Phil’s.
Phil’s lips met Dan’s one more time before saying, “Okay, I know it’s morning and it will totally fuck up our sleep schedule, but I’m tired. Why don’t we sleep now and we can just go out and do something later today?”
Dan felt his heart stop at the thought of going out in public with Phil. It made him think about how close they’ve gotten these past couple of days and he couldn’t help but smile at the thought. His eyes fluttered shut, but not before snuggling closer into Phil’s chest.
***
Later that day, Dan woke up alone in a bed that wasn’t his. He bolted up, eyes searching around the room to find Phil. The smell of pancakes fill the air and he giggled to himself, feeling around the duvet to find his boxers before pulling them on. He trudged towards the scent, rubbing his eyes tiredly.
“About time you woke up,” Phil jested, a spatula in one hand, a plate of poorly formed pancakes in the other.
“Why didn’t you wake me up when you got out of bed?” Dan frowned momentarily before changing to a grin as he watched Phil fail at flipping another pancake.
“I wanted to surprise you with breakfast in bed, but you kind of ruined it,” Phil faked a glare and put the plate of pancakes down. He stepped closer to Dan and wrapped his arms around his waist, planting a kiss on his lips. Dan returned the kiss, smiling against Phil’s mouth.
“You’re kind of amazing,” Dan mumbled, his arms tightening around Phil.
“Kind of? I am,” Phil replied.
“Hmm, I guess you’re right.”
“Hey, I woke up earlier than you to make pancakes. I would keep your mouth shut if I were you,” Phil spoke, mouth full of food. Dan rolled his eyes, but it never hid the fondness hiding behind them.
***
Dan found himself being dragged all over town with Phil. Not long after they finished breakfast, Phil took Dan to do practically everything in Manchester. It was nearing night, and they were walking in a park, hand in hand.
They stopped somewhere secluded and quiet, and Phil fell to the floor, bliss present on his face. The wind danced around them, messing up Dan’s fringe, but he couldn’t bring himself to care. Phil was spread out on the grass, the setting sun shining through the trees. The leaves were rustling in the distance and Dan could feel the steady beat of his heart speed up.
He placed himself next to Phil, his fingers playing with the grass beneath him. Phil opened his eyes and looked over at Dan, a fond smile playing around his lips. Dan seemed so lost in his own world, seemed perfectly okay with where he was right now. Phil felt like Dan was no longer that timid, shy Uni boy anymore. He was something more beautiful, something so indescribable that even his degree owning arse couldn’t fathom.
“Why are you looking at me like that?” Dan asked, closing in on himself, suddenly self conscious of Phil’s gaze.
“You’re beautiful,” Phil responded, voice close to a whisper, but not quite. Dan felt his cheeks heat up and he moved to hover on top of Phil.
“Stop lying,” Dan half joked, connecting their lips. Phil furrowed his eyebrows and pulled away, his eyes meeting Dan’s.
“I’m not. Dan, you’re beautiful. You’re so, so beautiful,” Phil praised sweetly, leaning in to meet Dan’s lips again. Dan allowed one tear to slip and Phil managed to catch it with his thumb, wiping away any doubt storing inside of Dan. Their kiss was neither fast paced, nor urgent, but was soft and sweet and caring. It was full of unsaid, implied feelings of love, and all Dan felt was pure bliss.
Before they knew it, the sun had set completely and the moon had taken its place.
“I think I have to walk you home now,” Phil said, suddenly aware that Kathy would be home soon. He never wanted this moment to end, and Dan made him unbelievably happy, but he had to return to reality now.
“Yeah, I guess you do,” Dan replied sadly, hugging Phil one more time before pulling away and standing up. He held his hand out to pull Phil up and they both share a look at the spot that they were once lying just minutes before. It was a look of reluctance, of longing to stay where they were. Their trance is broken when their hands find each other’s and their fingers lace, slowly walking away and out of the park.
***
When Phil came back home, Kathy was in the kitchen, drinking a glass of wine. Phil’s heart stopped when he found the unwashed dishes from the morning, half eaten pancakes sitting on the table, two plates set next to each other. Kathy was sat across from the two plates, watching Phil’s face closely for a reaction.
“Who did you eat pancakes with?” were the first words that left Kathy’s lips. There was no greeting, no “I’ve missed you while I was gone.”
“Had an impromptu meeting with one of my co-workers. It’s not a big deal,” Phil lied, trying to keep his eyes from shifting.
“Phil, these are pancakes. Breakfast foods. Someone spent the night here. Don’t tell me it’s not a big deal,” Kathy protested, her hand tightening around the glass of wine. Phil scoffed and rolled his eyes, choosing to lie some more to hide the truth.
“Are you cheating on me, Phil?” Kathy accused, although it wasn’t much of an accusation as it was the cold, hard truth.
“Can you not trust me, Kathy?” Phil responded in the same tone.
“There’s hard evidence here, and I bet if I go to the bed, my side is going to be ruined or some shit. Don’t lie to me, Phil!”
“I’m not! Look, sorry I left a mess, and sorry that I didn’t let you know what I was doing this morning, but I am not lying to you.”
Lies. More lies.
Phil took a deep breath, “I’m going for a walk. Don’t wait up on me.”
And with that, Phil slammed the door, leaving Kathy alone, sitting in front of plates of half eaten pancakes.

The breeze pulled Phil’s hair into a quiff, the cold air turning his ears red. He was alone out here, his hands shoved in his pockets, watching the ground below him. Kathy could have caught him then. That could have been the end of their marriage.
Then he could have Dan all to himself.
The idea was tempting. His marriage was already in shambles, and spending the day with Dan made him feel so much more at home than the actual home he and Kathy created. But what he created with Kathy, that was something else. It was built upon love that was found years ago. It was built upon feeling young again, and being young with each other. He couldn’t let that go, not even if he tried. What he had with Kathy was worth the arguing and the fighting, even if it didn’t feel like it most of the time. He felt it before and he was sure that their spark wasn’t completely gone.
He couldn’t have that with Dan in the picture. He needed to fix things with Kathy, but he couldn’t do that when he had this arrangement with Dan.
The decision was made without any second thought.
He was going to have to break up with Dan.
***
The next time Phil saw Dan, he planned to stop their relationship before it got anymore complicated. The minute he stepped in Dan’s dorm, however, he knew that plan would be saved for another day.
He answered the door and greeted Phil with a kiss, not giving Phil any time to utter a single word. Phil only had to hear Dan moan into the kiss once before he knew he was fucked. He started to reciprocate the kiss, the ability to control himself dissipating with every second.
Dan gripped Phil’s shoulders, blunt nails digging into the skin as they stumbled into the bedroom, Phil’s hands tightly clutching his hips, guiding him. Dan moaned, the noise muffled by Phil’s mouth, heart hammering against his chest. Phil broke the kiss suddenly, pulling back and pushing Dan back on the bed, looming over him with a sly smirk.
“Oh God, please,” Dan whimpered, blushing at how he sounded and Phil was on him in a flash, kissing him hungrily and straddling his hips, running his hands up and down Dan’s clothed torso, stopping to lightly flick over his nipples.
“Off,” Phil growled and Dan nodded, scrabbling up as best he could with Phil on his hips to remove the shirt. He threw it across the room and leaned up to kiss Phil again, one hand behind his head, the other supporting his body weight. Phil pulled his own shirt over his head before pushing Dan back down and working off his belt, palming the younger boy through his jeans.
“Oh fuck,” Dan hissed, breath hissing out through his clenched teeth, hips bucking up in a frantic attempt to gain more. More friction, more Phil, more of anything and everything. Phil grinned and pulled off his own trousers and boxers before stripping Dan of the last article of clothing he was wearing.
“How’d you wanna do this?” Phil asked, panting slightly, running his palms up and down Dan’s torso, fingers rubbing over his nipples. Dan whimpered and shook his head, arching his back. Phil smirked and leant down, sucking Dan’s earlobe into his mouth, gently nibbling as he asked once more, left hand working lower and lower, the side of his hand gently brushing the head of Dan’s cock where it was straining on his stomach.
“Ah, you could-fuck-you could, uh, in me?” Dan asked, looking at Phil through his eyelashes, a light blush flushing his cheeks. Phil moaned quietly, his imagination conjuring up lovely images of him burying himself into Dan, bottoming out. He nodded quickly and reached for the lube in the bedside door.
“Tell me if it hurts, okay?” Phil said and Dan nodded, biting his lip as Phil slicked up a finger and gently pressed it into him before slowly starting to piston it in and out, rotating it and thrusting it back inside. Dan’s breath left him in a rush, thighs shaking and cock leaking.
“More, oh God, please more,” he begged and Phil complied, slicking up another finger and pushing it in alongside the first, starting to scissor them slowly, stretching the muscle open. When Dan had become accustomed to the girth of two, he added a third digit, pistoning faster, searching Dan’s walls with his fingertips.
“That good?” Phil asked and Dan let out a strangled moan in answering, gasping when Phil brushed against his prostate. Before Dan could even suck in another breath, it left him in a loud moan, hips bucking up when Phil encased his cock in his warm, wet mouth, fingers still rubbing the bundle of nerves that was making him see stars.
“Oh fuck, I-I’m gonna-” Dan cried out and Phil pulled off his cock with a lewd ‘pop’, removing his fingers at the same time and Dan whined in frustration, hips bucking up to search for some friction of any kind.
“Not yet, you’re not,” Phil teased, giving Dan a minute or so to breathe and come away from the edge before he entered his fingers again, thrusting a dozen times in and out, scissoring him for good measure before he once again slid them out.
“Please, m’ready,” Dan moaned and Phil nodded, once, twice, before picking up the lube and slicking up his cock, aiming his length towards Dan’s open hole. He pressed the blunt head against the fluttering muscle, gasping as the head slipped inside, Dan clenching down on him, preventing him from moving.
“Dan, baby, you need to relax, okay?” Phil panted and Dan nodded, screwing his eyes up and biting his lip, willing himself to relax. Phil pressed a kiss to his temple and pressed in further, inch by inch, filling Dan up until he was stretched so far he could almost taste it.
“Move, please,” Dan panted, hands gripping at Phil’s shoulders tightly, nails leaving small half crescents in the flesh beneath them. Phil pressed kisses over his skin, linking their hands and starting to slowly thrust, head falling onto Dan’s shoulder as the pleasure overwhelmed him.
“You okay?” Phil asked and Dan nodded, moaning loudly as Phil’s cock grazed over his prostate, blunt head stimulating the bundle of nerves. He clenched down around him and Phil hissed, biting Dan’s collarbone to keep from cumming.
“Fuck, Dan. I’m not gonna last if you keep that up,” he moaned and Dan clenched around him again, back arching.
“I’m-I’m close-” Dan whimpered and Phil pressed a kiss to his lips, hand carding through his hair as he picked up the pace of his thrusts, slamming into Dan and moaning loudly when the younger clenched around him, the drag and friction on his aching cock incredible.
“That’s it, Dan. Come on, baby boy, you’re doing so well, so well, so good for me. Let yourself go, okay? I’m right behind you. It’s okay, I’m here,” Phil whispered his praise and that was all it took for Dan to arch off of the bed and cum in long ropes up his stomach and torso.
“Oh fuck,” Phil hissed, burying himself fully inside Dan with a groan, hips stuttering inside of him slightly as he released his load into Dan, chest heaving. He pulled out slowly when he was done, pressing a kiss to Dan’s hipbone before rolling off of him completely and laying down next to him, pulling him into his arms.

Upon waking up, Phil realised that he needed to get home soon. However, he couldn’t bring himself to move. Dan looked untroubled whilst he slept, and Phil never wanted to inflict pain or some sort of suffering upon him. He was a prisoner to his thoughts once again as he thought about life with just Dan. It would be full of loving and care, full of something exciting and new everyday. It would be feeling like this every time they had sex.
He never felt that way when he had sex with Kathy. He never had sex with Kathy anymore. He couldn’t find it in him. Not the energy, and not even the lust was enough to drive him to do it. He felt guilt creeping into him, settling there in his stomach, creating a permanent home. He loved the way Dan made him feel, but that wasn’t something he was supposed to be feeling. This was supposed to be an arrangement to help Dan pay off his University expenses. He didn’t think he would get so attached to the boy sleeping in his arms.
Dan seemed so delicate, sleeping peacefully in Phil’s arms. Phil felt like he could get used to this. Everyday would be filled with cooking pancakes, and banter, and feeling like they could take on the world together. He didn’t stop himself from pressing another kiss to Dan’s forehead. He watched as Dan’s mouth twitched into a smile before relaxing again.
It was only the fact that it was almost night that made Phil leave. He shook Dan awake and told him that he was leaving. Dan nodded with half-lidded eyes before lazily kissing Phil once and going back to sleep. Phil allowed himself to chuckle as he pulled on his clothes and fixed his hair. He glanced at Dan one more time before leaving the dorm room.
***
He makes the decision before going to bed that night. He was facing the other way from Kathy, but her back was pressed against his. It was supposed to serve as a sign of comfort, but it felt like it was burning through his clothes. His eyes were heavy, but he couldn’t sleep, no matter how hard he tried. Tomorrow was the day. He needed to focus on his relationship. He needed to fix things so he didn’t have to feel that way anymore.
***
The next morning came too fast for Phil.
His movements were robotic like he was just going through the normal motions. He found himself in Dan’s University hall sooner than he hoped.
Arriving at Dan’s dorm, Phil felt his heart pounding against his chest and thin layers of sweat blanketing his palms. He almost laughed to himself; the feelings were similar to those he had when he was meeting Dan at his dorm for the first time. He approached the door, the lump in the back of his throat never going down once, no matter how hard he swallowed. He held his breath as he knocked, suddenly feeling numb and cold as the door opened.
He was met with Dan’s warm smile, dimples present as ever.
Phil felt his heart stop.
“Phil! I’m so glad to see you,” the smile never leaving Dan’s face. Phil did not reply, opting to walk right in and sit on the bed. He couldn’t even look Dan in the eye because he knew if he did, he would never muster the courage to tell Dan the truth. He kept his eyes trained to the ground, letting the silence speak for him.
Dan eyebrows knitted together, suddenly feeling the need to hide somewhere. He sat next to Phil as he spoke, “I-is there something wrong?”
Phil swallowed again, biting his tongue to keep himself from saying, “No! There isn’t anything wrong. I don’t have a wife and I want to be with you.”
He felt his head shake and after what seemed like years, he finally looked up to meet Dan’s gaze.
“I have a wife,” he found himself saying, the words rolling off of his tongue without getting the chance to process.
It seemed as if the whole world stopped at this moment in time. Dan could no longer hear, nor feel, his heart beating anymore. Phil’s words were bouncing off of the wall, dancing around Dan as if to taunt him. Dan wished he could ignore them, but he knew that this is something he couldn’t.
“I can’t do our arrangement anymore,” Phil continued, the word “arrangement” piercing through Dan’s heart. Was that all he was to Phil? An arrangement?
“Why… Why not?” Dan’s voice breaking as he asked, tears threatening to fall from his eyes. He felt his body shake, eyesight blurry as he tried to meet Phil’s eyes, who still kept his eyes trained to the floor.
“Didn’t you hear me, Dan? I have a wife. I have actual responsibilities. I can’t have anything distracting me from my marriage,” Phil spoke after a long pause, his tone cold and distant, even if he was mere inches away from Dan. He could feel Dan shrinking, scooting away from him, and all he wanted to do was pull him close and reassure him that everything would be okay eventually. “I’ll mail you the cheque to give you the rest of the payments later.”
Phil found himself standing up before he could give into the urge, the lump in his throat never leaving.
“Phil, no. Please don’t leave me,” Dan quavered, attempting to wipe away the constant flow of tears and shakily standing up to follow Phil. He grabbed Phil’s wrist, causing Phil to stop in his tracks. Phil swallowed once more before pulling his wrist away, exiting the door without another word.
Dan collapsed onto the floor, not trying to stop his tears anymore. A sob erupted from him and he shook uncontrollably on the floor, face in his hands, hair as much of a wreck as his heart.

As Phil entered his house, he was greeted with the smell of a dinner cooking and the sound of Kathy humming to herself. He caught sight of himself in the mirror as he made his way to the kitchen. His eyes were burdened with bags, his shoulders hunched over as if he was carrying the weight of the world on them. He ran his fingers through his hair and plastered a smile on his face as he entered the kitchen, pretending that his life was back to normal.
Dinner went by fast as well as did the rest of the evening, and soon Phil found himself laying on his and Kathy’s shared bed. He didn’t like how he left things with Dan, and being with Dan was the only time he had ever felt truly happy. Before he could think about anything else, he felt the bed dip and the covers lift. He turned to face his wife and she smiled in return. She pressed her lips to his and turned off the lights.
Her lips felt foreign against his. He forced a smile and turned to face the other side of the bed. He stared blankly at the wall, willing it to give him some sort of sign that he made the right decision. An empty pit formed in his stomach as he urged himself to fall asleep. His thoughts would not silence.
Sure, he had his wife. He had a bed that fit the two of them, and a house that protected him from the dangers of the world, yet never in his life had he felt more alone.
