I like Voltageâs otome games. I just wish they would partner with someone that makes PC games or they can port the games that are android and iOS to PC.
Maybe make a windows Love365 app that would be great! There is some untapped potential for Voltage.
The second Cheritz game that has confirmed the distinctive creative potential of this team.
PROS:
First of all, letâs talk about the plot. Eri (MC) has her precious ball-joint dolls suddenly turned into people. Every doll has its initial program - a number of features, created by a puppet-maker. These features a priori determine and limit the dollâs personality, transforming into hard personal issues. Thus, after being turned into human, every doll is doomed to experience strong character development. It's exceptionally interesting to watch how the circumstances make everyone widen their horizon.
A captivating setting. Have you ever pitied your old abandoned toys when you started to grow up? Have you ever thought that virtual persons (dolls, fiction characters, idols of all sorts) are more reliable and safe for close relationships than real people (seems that we all sin in this way here)? Have you thought that those who were abandoned by us still remember everything? The game will give you time to think over this stuff.
Great characters, Cheritz! Every character has his own captivating story. When I play Cheritz games I end up liking every character in some way (which is completely uncharacteristic for me). Iâm not as stuck with them as I am with one certain Hakuouki character, but I did enjoy every route.
The atmosphere of this game is perfectly insecure and a bit creepy. The right tiny bit of creep. There are tons of bad endings (who knows what can come into the dollsâ pretty heads, right? Their humanity is still precarious, after all). Not all of them are elaborated well, but some endings are impressive.
Beautiful ghostly spirits with shades of purple, nice CGs.
If you like yandere characters, Cheritz is perfect in it. Two splendid yanderes in the cast.
Eri (MC) is not an infamous doormat otome girl. Like Heejung from Dandelion, Eri has her own personal drama. One may find it a bit exaggerated too, but itâs up to your taste.
Side characters are lovely.
CONS:
Group interaction is not very rich. The oppositions within the group are pretty obvious. Tei canât stand Yuri, Lance doesnât get along with Red⊠Itâs not a serious flaw though, just a matter of taste. Some things about the characters may appear repetitive and cliched.
One can say that Eri (MC) overreacts about her problems (just like Heejung from Dandelion). A matter of taste as well. The whole game may appear too melodramatic at times.
There is a bunch of cliched minor plot decisions which I cannot reveal without spoilering. I guess they are borrowed from pop-culture, doramas etc., meaning that they are not very realistic. They didnât ruin the game for me though. I guess, if you watch anime or play otome games, you are accustomed to a bunch of silly stereotypical things so itâs not a big problem.
Iâve already mentioned that I managed to enjoy all the routes. But Tei is actually my favorite character of this game. His is the only route Iâve completed without a walkthrough because I somehow got a decent understanding of his personality and was able to play by myself. Just like I enjoy strange people IRL, I like quirky, jaded and turbulent characters in fiction.
@impracticaldemon, I know that Lance was your favorite. He was the first character I played and I really enjoyed his route too. I like how heâs not a complete âice princeâ (pff), but has some spice too. How did you like the setting? The atmosphere? Did anything bother you while playing?
