Lyney groaned as his eyelids lift, he slowly sat up from where he was laying as it seems he was outside but from the looks of things, he wasn't in Fontaine anymore and it seemed to be the middle of night here.

His head hurts as it felt like he was just dropped here without explanation but where exactly had the young magician stumped. He slowly got up from the ground and dusted off his clothes, he fixed his bow and readjusted his top hat before venturing forth.

As he looked around, his cat like pupils couldn't help but stare as everything looked to be old fashioned, just like Fontaine in a way but a little different.

He was curious.

He could make out a structure just up ahead which looked to be a large manor of sorts, he felt like he should stay away but his curiosity became too much as he slowly and cautiously approaches it.

He gulps before looking around and being as quiet as possible, making absolutely no one was nearby where he stood as he was about to climb inside the manor through one of the windows.

Couldn't hurt to have a quick peek....right?

berserker reaches out. he will not fight the king of knights again, he will not make her fight (hate) him. he promised this. he cannot be a knight, but he can pretend, and he can be a dog who does not bite those it isn’t ordered to. instead, he simply bonks armoured knuckles against the king’s forehead. gently. “your attitude is why i say it. you have done more than enough. kingdoms aren’t forever. but so long as you’re around, we’ll be your knights. you deserve a lot.”

even when he isn’t a true knight. he’ll be this for her alone. (she deserves better than him, too. lancelot is not delusional about what kind of person he is.) “I’ll speak as i will. it’s hard enough. unless you’d like me to go back to growling?” the question is largely made in jest, just the light uptick of tone to indicate he’s not entirely serious. (though if she prefers it, he’ll certainly oblige. it’s very easy to be nonverbal.) tristan proved well enough the uses of speaking thoughts to the king. lancelot managed it once and it turned out well enough, so... it can’t be that bad.

lancelot watches her hand and doesn’t move away from it. call it progress, call it dedication. her touch is softer than he deserves, but he feels she would argue that. for someone who tries to be distant from the human heart, she manages to circle her way back around to it. “you worked so hard at being a king. you’re still a king. still working too hard. but you’re artoria, too, even if you’re not yet good at being artoria. i don’t know if i understand you. i just want you to live happily."

he should probably argue ‘watching over her’. the entire series of events feels as if he was watching over her, he did a piss-poor job. she is the one he forced to kill him. not great. lancelot for his own sake will decline to remind her. “still. i’ll give you what i can. pitiful offerings or otherwise. in exchange, continue to live. that‘s all”
