woozi's foot taps gently against the floor along with the beats playing on his headphones. the universe factory is truly a factory. it is up and running 24/7 and 365 1/4 days every year. and it's not like they don't get day-offs, they do. but woozi doesn't make music because it is his job. he makes it because there is nothing else in this world that he finds fun doing besides making music. and god is he good at it.
he closed his eyes when the bridge of the song started playing. it transitions from a very upbeat and bright tune into a slow and calm melody. from modern to classical instruments. he suddenly feels excitement burst on his chest. his nose scrunches, shakes his head and bites his lower lip. he tries to contain the sudden adrenaline pumping through his system as he feels satisfaction from hearing his work. (you know when you want to draw smth but don't have a reference picture but then you were able to draw it anyway? yes, that feeling.) but he fails miserably. woozi removes his headphones and turns his chair to face you with a huge smile on his face, ready to talk your ear out as he talks about how excited he is for the members to hear this new song. but he immediately halts his movements and his eyes widen at the sight of you. guilt immediately replacing the adrenaline that was spreading inside of him just a moment ago. he quietly sits back down on his chair and heaves a sigh.
you came by earlier with dinner so the two of you could eat together before heading back to your shared apartment to have your movie night. that was three hours ago. he runs his hands over his face before standing up to sit next to you on the couch. after having your dinner, woozi said he had to finish this one song. he was so in the zone and he didn't want to let the idea just pass by him and go to waste. you agreed to it because it's not like you had anything to do the next day. if the both of you end up watching movies until sunrise then so be it. but then woozi got way too in the zone that he completely lost track of time. it had been around two hours ago when he told you that he was about to finish it and they could start to clean up and head home for the movie.
he watches you sleep on the couch at his studio. you looked so comfortable cuddling the plushies he had put there for display that he didn't want to wake you up. so he decided to let you be for a few more minutes. (totally not because he also wants to just enjoy the way you look and watch your totally not adorable sleeping figure. his heart is totally not b-boying right now.) a small smile making its way to his lips as he suddenly remembered of the time he had first brought you in his studio. you were so awkward and stiff (like a whole radish kimchi, right dokyeom? gose 2021 ep. 29, 18:09) and you couldn't find a comfortable position to sit in. and here you are now, fast asleep on that very same couch. woozi feels glad that you have found peace and comfort in his safe haven. a place where only people with privileges from him have the luxury to be able to be in there. but then for them, woozi has to bring them in while you get to invite yourself in anytime (as long as it's outside of his official working hours). who's privileged now?
you suddenly stir from your position, eyes opening slightly while doing so. then you realize a sense of warmth from your side and you completely open your eyes. you see the love of your life leaning his face on his fist while his elbows were prompt on the backrest of the couch, staring deep into your soul.
"what time is it?" you ask while roaming your hands around you on the cound trying to find your phone.
"it's time for us to head home and cuddle to sleep," he replied as he stood up to turn off his monitor.
"what about the movie?" you asked, still laying on the couch very comfortably while hugging an adorable penguin plushie.
"we can watch it tomorrow instead. you seem tired too, so why don't we just call it a night?" he walks towards your pouting plus laying figure. he chuckles at the sight and sits beside you on the couch before leaning forward to give your forehead a peck.
"movies can be watched any time. your rest and sleep should be prioritised more right now." he reaches out his hands for you to take so you can finally detach yourself from the seat.
"are you sure you don't just want to watch me sleep again?" you tease him. his cheeks turn pink at your words. flustered that he got caught admiring you. he doesn't respond to you and just quietly grabs his coat before walking towards the door while you were left behind still fixing your stuff and giggling at his reaction.
you were only joking about it, you didn't know he was actually staring at you while you slept. who's got pink tinted cheeks now?
