listen i’ve said it before and i’ll say it again:
literally it does not matter if dream is or was a trump supporter. he has *never* mentioned anything in either direction (or anything related) (that i can recall) in any of his youtube content. like... he’s a minecraft youtuber who makes fun manhunts for content. nothing to do with politics or really anything other than minecraft and having fun with his friends.
you don’t need to agree or disagree with his stance on most things to enjoy his stuff. the only video that is somewhat questionable is the one with notch, but it’s not like he picked notch because he’s antisemitic or transphobic or whatever - he picked him because he‘s the original creator of minecraft for god’s sake. he probably didn’t even know about all that other stuff.
yeah, it would be pretty disappointing to most fans if he was a trump supporter, but like i said - it doesn’t impact his content. it’s like hermitcraft: nobody cares about whether or not cubfan likes biden, just that he makes interesting content. it doesn’t matter either way.
honestly the thing that bothers me the most about all this is that he would lie about not ever having defended trump. there was a while analysis that was like “yeah that was dream” and instead of owning up to it and saying that his views have changed since (which would have been 100% fine for most people) he just. lied?? and it wasn’t even a good lie?? so that’s what bothers me the most about it.
disclaimer: i am not saying that if you stop watching a creator because you don’t like their politics, you’re a bad person. i personally would probably stop watching dream if he was currently a trump supporter. all i’m saying is that it doesn’t really matter and it’s not reasonable grounds to crash his career/force him into being a new pewdiepie.
