there's a lot of discourse sureounding the dream smp ccs and it's honestly really stressing me out
like 1. these things that happened are shitty but the ccs might not even know about it. if i tried to tell someone i know irl that pdp is a n/zi they would be surprised.
2. the stuff people say about dream & other ccs being inappropriate around tommy is removed from context. tommy is a minor, yes, but a) plenty of minors (incl. tommy himself) make sex jokes and b) tommy says if he's genuinely uncomfortable. he's not a baby. also most of the content he makes is roleplay, so saying "dream is manipulative" & using tommy vods as evidence is just straight up false considering context.
3. literally half the evidence people are using is "they collabed with [x]!" or "they seem so sketchy" like yeah i believe that they could be horrible people but PLEASE get your evidence from someone/somewhere other than some rando on tumblr who said they dated the guy for a month but refuses to post proof
4. this probably goes without saying but. stop attacking fans. they might not have known. there is literally no reason to not be gentle when youre telling someone that they looked up to is a racist asshole unless you already know that said person knows. also don't send hate to the ccs, many (other than schlatt/a6d) have shown that they read criticism and will apologize for whatever it is that they did. it's a problem once they know what they did wrong and refuse to correct it. if they don't know then educate them instead of sending them out of context hate. this goes doubly hard for tommy/tubbo/the other minors bc ffs theyre like 16-17
5. it stops being valid criticism when you act like the ccs or fans are incapable of change. yall will support people who make posts about how they escaped a neo-n/zi rabbit hole that they fell into at 14 years old and got out at 25 then turn around and cancel everyone who does something that's criticism worthy. have most of the dream smp ccs said/done something that they definitely shouldn't have? (dream defending a6d, almost every member collabing with pdp, etc.) yes, and it's valid to say "hey that was bad." but saying that they're inherently bad people and that all of their fans are terrible is a broad generalization that is mostly inaccurate.
i know someone's probably gonna post part of this out of context and make a stupid fucking joke about dream fans being insane even though i've literally said in this post that there's no denying/defending that most of the dream smp ccs have done/said horrible things but i'll put this up anyways. (also this got really long lol)
