In a world that is in the middle of the increase of Trans-erasure and the erasure of other queer identities — be it in an article, the news, history, media, etc: If your character is Trans or Queer in some other way, PLEASE say "the word"!! Say their identity!! Make it unable to be denied. Make it unable to be erased! Make it fucking take up space!!

I absolutely LOVE nuance! But the end result can be straightforward! It's not going to ruin anything by using the word Trans (or varying labels)!! I SEE the nuance. I SEE the subtext. I also see that we deserve more visibility.

Tired of seeing, "So you need them to face the camera and say 'I'm trans.'" No, stop blowing things out of proportion by providing a bullshit and blunt non-answer to the problem at hand.

I'm saying: Queer words and labels should be used more than they already are — especially with what we are facing currently. The word "Trans" isn't going to tarnish a cinematic moment. It's not some shitty punchline. It's not "anticlimactic". It is a real word that carries real weight and real people.

All nuance leading up to it can be absolutely well-made and stunning. Adding a verbal coming out isn't going to scratch the record.

Denying direct queerness means a silent win for TERFs and many other oppositional groups against queerness. Complaining at every turn against the demand for more unabashed queerness does the same.

We cannot afford to tiptoe around their little feelings for the sake of an increase in viewership. We cannot tiptoe in the face of the erasure of our existence and contributions. We simply cannot accept purely living between the lines as subtext.

Being queer isn't shameful. Ask for more instead of accepting less.

Addition: There are people — queer or otherwise — who just can't, haven't had to, or straight-up Will Not acknowledge subtext. Outright admittance will deal with them accordingly.

I think about how often people criticize a piece of fan fiction for being unfinished and how they'll never touch an unfinished fic.

Then I think about how people have the audacity to go to the comment section to say exactly that.

What if they were dead, could you live with yourself knowing that? Could you live with yourself knowing that your selfishness brought you here to say that without knowing what the author is going through outside of creating content to feed an ungrateful machine?

Could you live with knowing that someone could be drowning behind that screen and you were more upset about a fic being unfinished than you were concerned about the author?

Then why the fuck are you doing it at all?

Me: People view Abigail Roberts through a misogynistic lens and would sooner see her as annoying and inconvenient before seeing her as a woman who grew up as a child prostitute and someone who desperately wants a comfortable life to raise her son and a comfortable life period after so much hard living -- which also means demanding John Marston get his shit together and be a proactive father to their son. Since being a woman in 1899 means you still have to depend on a man to function within society. You see her stressing out over the inability to buy clothes for her son. You see her with Hosea teaching Jack how to read. She literally can't even write, she had to get help because writing that letter to John was important to her! She wanted a partner she could depend on and she still believed it was possible with John this whole time. People will choose to hate her because they only hear Dutch say "We've all had her" and judge her for who she slept with AS A CHILD and who she slept with AT ALL and see her as nagging and demanding than to acknowledge the actual character before them. They mischaracterize and accuse her of being the most hateful thing on 2 feet, but they'll defend Micah Bell to the ends of the Earth saying he was "misunderstood" and "not that bad" but the moment she demands better from her partner for the sake of their child, suddenly Abigail is the villain of RDR2. The comment section: *prove my fucking point with misogynistic commentary regarding Abigail in record time* The bar was in fucking hell...it remains in hell. How you view the women of the Van Der Linde Gang says a lot about you. This fandom is so disappointing 70% of the time.

Putting "Prestige" in front of the name doesn't make it a Prestige by the standards you previously set. A "prestige" edition skin is an ELEVATED version of an existing base iteration of that skin. So, to say "Prestige Veiled-Lady Morgana" when there is no "Veiled Lady Morgana" along with "Prestige Spirit Blossom Lux" when there is no "Spirit Blossom Lux" is entirely mask-off and downright fucking greedy. Just call it what it is and quit trying to justify your new bullshit skin tiers as a way to take money from the hands of consumers faster and in larger quantities. It's disgusting. You're not sneaky.
