          “ you know , not to sound gay’r anythin’ , but one day i want a big cobblestone kinda house in the middle of nowhere . ----- that’s all i’ve been able to think about for , like , two years . ”  taking a sip from his bottle , peaches risked a pointed glance over to the woman and quickly raised his eyebrows before glancing away .  “ like pumpkin pickin’ in the fall , and bringin’ ‘em home and threading popcorn on strings at christmas , shovelin’ snow and choppin’ up wood for the fireplace .  domestic kinda shit y’know ?  kind of over , ” he began , throwing up his pinkie and index finger , thumb lazily outstretched within the air , though his tone didn’t change in the slightest , “ the rock’n’roll lifestyle , babe . ”  large hand fell back to his thigh , a shrug of indifference offered to kasi .

          one foot in the living room , one in the hallway , peaches’ brows scrunch together as he reads a message on his phone .  girlfriend , right .  and ah --- yes , lunch plans .  “ kasi , ” he begins as he finally resumes his now extremely slowed steps inside , “ uh , heather was wondering if she could grab lunch with us too ?  she’s about to go on her break . ”  peaches pauses , not wanting to force the burden of the girl kasi clearly isn’t fond of onto her , but not wanting to abandon his girlfriend either .  having a soulmate and a girlfriend at the same time was literally the most annoying thing in the world . “ feel free to say no if you want to , i won’t be mad or anything , just lemme know like .... right now so i can tell her . ”

          the release party of the band’s new album was in full swing at the venue : a classy and rather upscale wedding / event hall that was soon to be filled to the brim with drugs , booze , scantily clad or entirely nude women dancing around .  it was more extravagant than their normal after parties following shows , more glitz and glamour too it and highly publicized now .  peaches hadn’t had a good feeling the entire time , but he’d touch on that later .  he made his way through the rooms offering smiles and laughs , grateful thank yous at the praise thrown at him from every direction on the killer new stuff , and searched for the one person he had arrived with and planned on leaving with .  upon seeing her small form chatting amongst a small group of people he headed her way and bent down to set his chin on her shoulder .  “ when you get a minute , can you come out back with me ? i need some air . ”  he didn’t offer any further explanation before he was out of the building and in the back garden , sat on the grass and lighting a cigarette .

          he’s ASLEEP on the couch in the studio as angel attempts to work out the kinks of a solo , arms crossed over his chest and head thrown back over the edge to let out snores that could easily rival any beasts’ roar .  touring was exhausting , interviewing was exhausting , recording was exhausting .  if he hadn’t been considered the opposite by close to everyone , he would claim he was fat and old and needed a good break .  this little power nap is the closest he can get --- well , until the door opens and promptly knocks over a cymbal , the male jumping off of the couch and into a defensive stance immediately .  “ what’s the big idea here ?  i’m tryna’ fuckin’ sleep . ”

          body slumps onto couch , oxygen mask securely placed over his mouth and nose with one hand whilst free hand settles over taut abdomen .  peaches should know by now not to push himself so hard on stage , but it’s just so fun to dance around and sing his heart out that he forgets sometimes his lungs absolutely despise him . ( the chain smoking really doesn’t help either . )  at the sound of foosteps , he raises his hand though his eyes remain closed .  “ gimme a minute , ” inhale “  sorry i sound , ” exhale “ like darth vader . ”

          his movements stop lightning fast , ( he is speed ) with arms formerly outstretched towards her now thrown up above his head .  “ i don’t fucking know what you want from me .  you make it sound like you want something , so i give it to you , and then you don’t want it !!  you can’t make that stupid ass sad face at me and expect anything else .  what do you want , josephine , christ al-fucking-mighty . ”  never in his entire thirty years has one single person made him want to rip his hair out more than this girl sat before him .  never .  his angry pacing comes to an abrupt halt — so sharp , in fact , that it nearly throws him off balance .  hands reach towards his pack of cigarettes , his jacket containing his phone , keys , and wallet , before heavy steps bring him to the door .  peaches has finally given up – after god knows how long , he simply has no idea what to do with her anymore .  “ figure it out and then come talk to me . ”

          a  SMIDGEN  too  high     --  though  thankfully  only  marijuana  --     to  be  driving  to  his  girlfriend’s  home  at three  in  the  morning  ,  but  the  issue  is  too  PRESSING  to  wait  .   squinted  eyes  lock  onto  her  door  ,  hand  coming  up  to  drum  a  rhythmic  beat  upon  the  solid  wood  .  “  baby  ,  it’s  me  .  ”  and  had  peaches  been SMART  he  would  have  remembered  to  grab  her  spare  key  off  of  his  dresser  instead  of  the  more  IMPORTANT  item  lain  beside  it  .  “ wake  uuuuuuup  ,  let  me  in !! ”  laughter  falls  in  bubbling  peals  ,  remembrance  of  the  andre  meme  as  another  beat  makes  its  way  unto  the  door .  “  let  me  in  ! ! !   LET  ME  IN  ! ! !  ”
