Nautilus by Eileen Thompson Via Flickr: There's a wonderful variety of shape and colour in shells and I particularly love the 'pearlised ' ones . This one has been half - cut and I also have a fully sliced one. I played around with the exposure dial on my camera and vibrancy in post processing. Sometimes I can spend so much time trying out different things that I end up confused and not able to make a decision ... so - making a mental note to stop giving myself more work than I need - especially in this awful relentless heat - daft 'apeth !

Pearlised Shells

I love shells – especially the ‘pearlised’ ones. Not living by the sea-side or in an otherwise exotic place , I have to buy mine from shops. As these are invariably located at the sea-side too, there’s not much chance of me adding to my collection. Of course I can shop on line for them, but it’s never quite the same as seeing them in the flesh is it? I’m hankering after a large nautilus shell…
