I was going through old OCs and translating their names into clanmew when I remembered that one of them is a medicine cat who became leader after the deputy was killed on the way to their equivalent of the moonstone. Has a medicine cat ever become leader in BB, and if not, do they have the potential to? Or is it something that StarClan/Clan culture would never allow?

She was the Cleric under Morningstar, and violently overthrew him when he refused to bring ThunderClan into battle. She cited StarClan sending her a sign, that in this desperate time, his choice of deputy couldn't be trusted.

Pearstar is a controversial patron, but firmly within StarClan's ranks. Invoking her is usually kept very quiet, because she is a Patron of Revolution. She's associated with tumult and how chaos makes crazy situations. As crazy as a Cleric becoming a Leader.

Her story is also definitely, definitely not relayed accurately. There's a LOT of focus on how StarClan gave her a sign if her Clericness is mentioned at all.

PEARSTAR: LEADER OF RUSTYCLAN

The current leader of RustyClan, with 6 lives remaining. Their reputation with their Clanmates is generally good. They are ambitious, cunning, yet kind, though they do sometimes have a problem with authority, interestingly. They rely heavily on their deputy, Lichendust, and their medicine cat, Ospreywater.

tell me more about pearstar! is there a backstory?

There is!! Still somewhat in the works but I'll tell you what I've got so far :)c

Pearstar was a past ThunderClan who stirred up trouble and drama just for fun, he was lazy, cunning, and believed that he and his bloodline were the best.

This of course irritated the other clans and greatly rose tensions, to the point where Pearstar brought on a a big old war! It ended when a senior ThunderClan warrior, Shadetail, and the RiverClan leader Poppystar finally killed him after moons of planning.

The Clans were too broken by that point though :( and many dispersed or tried to rebuild. Many descendants from the clan cats traveled around and eventually they and many others decided to rebuild!! Hence the current oc clans!

Pearstar, not even satisfied in death, decided to wander around and follow the descendants, and became the first evil spirit. But a few StarClan cats followed along as well, wanting to watch over their kin! They eventually made up the "Starry Meadows" aka new StarClan.

Oakpaw was the first to discover the Charred Woods, and Pearstar's dumb narcissistic ass lol, he promised her that he'd help her get revenge on Ratburr and gave her the attention she never got from anyone else. She eventually leaves and warns everyone but yeah. Pearstar basically only cares about himself and stirring the pot to see drama 😔 his warrior name was Pearsong too btw

Also apparently, Deepsmoke was the one who murdered Gregory?? (Gregory died btw) I must've missed the line where she confessed it to Pearstar of all people (who besides being her great-grandfather is also the clan leader?), and by the math, she was an apprentice of 11 moons of age at the time?

So i guess that's another cat for exile! What the fuck!

Don't worry, Deepsmoke, you and Shrubshadow will get to know each other very well once he admits to his own murder as well

I clearly need to get my mediators doing more than convincing other cats to mate up, goddamn
