We've all made fun of the Boomer midlife crisis: the shiny red sports car, the extra-marital affair side piece, the FB-worthy vacation property that cost their pension... but now all of older millenials (myself included) are like... making jam, canning, buying/wanting to buy chickens. Everywhere I look, millennials are either homesteading or lusting after The Farm Life™ cause' we just want peace, calm, and bees. For real. I feel like Boomers had such a normal, successful life trajectory that they needed something wild in the middle, whereas we had such a wild, unpredictable life out the gate, just want to be retired old people with impressive turnips. Maybe doomsday prepping is a way to save the ego and our sens of autonomy. Starting in middle and highschool with "where would you go during a zombie apocolypse" and wishing some could opt out of capitalism. But I feel like this is a common theme between ages 28 to 38.

i spent 6 hours reading the DSM-5 today. it’s been 5 years since the last time i took a crack at it.

also today was the first time i highly considered therapy as a positive option for myself/regardless of my previous reservations. i am so exhausted of finding myself in repeated situations.
