Fun magic animation is always great. Love the non-existent wind blowing his hair about, and of course the glowing eyes is a must.

This also makes me realize how much of old English I'm not good at. I get that thou and thy are essentially more formal 'you's, but doth I would have thought is a form of "do." In which case he says, "Your sight Demona does offend," which reads to me saying Elisa finds Demona offensive to her eyes. Which might not be accurate but doesn't make as much sense in context. I'm of the mind that these people love Shakespeare enough to not have formed the sentence wrong, so I'm guessing there's just also a grammatical shift from them to now that I'm not as keen to understand, if I'm right to assume 'doth' is 'does.'

Which is really besides the point. We get what's going on. Demona hates the sight (though does she really? =P) of humans. So Elisa must cease to remain human!

This episode introduces the two other personalities inside Coldstone, and not going to lie, this is where, in the past, the show has lost me in my interest of Coldstone. It's just a little overmuch for me. I've always wondered how much of Cold Stone's violence toward Goliath is meant to be retconned by bring in Coldsteel. It just felt like a bit of a cop-out.

But maybe I'll take to it better this time, though I'm hesitant to think so. If Xanatos is rebooting Coldstone here--which seems the more likely explanation given that Xanatos was in charge of the mechanical parts of this--then I suppose with the reinitation there could be an upload, and with that, the inserting of Coldsteel and Coldfire. But this would still require assistance from Demona here, as the whole souls-resurrection aspect came from her magic, and I don't feel like I remember her bein in on this one. And if she wasn't, how much was implied that it must have been part of the first episode?

I'm a pedant, what can I say. I don't like them just adding stuff in later XD

Thought interesting, looking up Coldsteel and Coldfire's names on Wiki mentions having these three allowed for an Othello-type remake which is very on brand for them to do, but is not a good enough excuse for people who are me. They have enough Shakespeare references in the show, they didn't need to shoehorn this in XD

And of course, this is why I've been not very excited about this episode. It's just... an annoying setup to me XD

If I could be like 'the memories and personalities are fake versions of them that Xanatos programmed'-- and would have some basis in this false memory of Goliath with Coldfire--I'd be more on board, but they treat them like the actual souls of their fallen comrades in future episodes. DX

Ahahah What a little shit Brooklyn is here. I forgot that I think Hudson also can't read and thought instead I remembered this was about his eyesight being bad, but that's a later episode.

And talk about a wild conceit! That the previous head of the clan didn't learn to read but was a tracker and strategist. It's not impossible, but don't know that I think it's the most thought out.

But it is fun to see the contrast of Broadway admitting it and Hudson excusing himself from the conversation. What's especially interesting is that like, in this context, I think there's a good chance he would have done all the same things whether or not he could read.

That said, in my own personal Gargoyles AU, I think I'm making the decision that she read in Gaelic but not English. Just like, what are the chances that Goliath's mentor didn't instill in him the value of reading to some extent? I think that's where I most bump up at disbelief that Goliath, Brookly, and Lexington can all read, but the previous leader of the clan can not. XD

Did Madoka still hold the status of being very wanted by Madoka even though in this universe she hasn't been the means of creating many timelines? I suppose yes though because she is an iteration of Goddess!Madoka.

Largely because she worked retroactively. Or that was implied at the end at least. So now there's a version of her floating around as Goddess!Madoka taking magical girls before they become witches in every possible timeline.

You know, I don't know that it's ever really clear if their hearing is particularly good. I have to imagine it is because of how large the ears are, but I don't think it's really ever directly addressed. I'll have to be in the lookout. Like sure, they're probably shouting these things, but an airship isn't quiet, and Demona was separated from them by a steel door.

Also she delivers this line so gleefully. She's really taking it all in, this taking down humans with a gargoyle by her side thing.

Appropriately, Elisa sees that GTFOs!

I am going to admit here that I don't know much about gasoline/explosives. I assume the only thing adding a spark to this gas are the projectiles coming through, and if that was what added the spark, wouldn't it have gone in flames when being punctured? Does the can take the spark so only once the gas it out and a projectile hit it the spark happen. Would there be any sparks at all on this end of the line? I mean, I think some of them have like laser blasts so that last question is kind of moot but maybe applies to the initial question?

IN ANY CASE! The point is that there was going to be an explosion that Elisa was going to have to flee, and now it's happened, and they think she's dead. XD

I appreciate that she's out of breath once they reach the top. There was some panning and lots of claw climbing crunching noise. We know it has been some amount of time. She's likely to be generally in shape, but how often is she going to the gym just to hang from the pull bar for long periods of time.

I know that the show is going for her being still very scared, and I think that's obviously part of it, but again I think she's had time to begin to regulate that part. You can only stay in extreme anxiety mode for so long.

But it really would be very exerting to hold oneself up around a thick neck for a long period of time. I don't think the show really cares to engage with that too much, but I'm Taking It here! Later on my pedantic brain will be able to contribute it to Elisa's arms getting stronger from knowing she needs lots of arm strength and lots of practice, but for now! Here's this. Hahaha XD
