Pedro Gonzaga was choked to death by white security officers in front of his mother inside Extra one of the largest supermarket chains in Brazil. Pedro was a 19-year-old black man from Rio de Janeiro with mental disabilities. Black activists in Brazil are comparing this to Eric Garner’s choking death by police in NY.
