i’m rewatching young justice s3 for the first time since it came out and while it’s definitely charming to see the role reversal of the teenagers we watched in season 1 all grown up and being responsible for a new group, i think the setup for that is.. pretty weak? the formation of the team in season 1 worked because they had a reason to make a team (feeling disrespected by the justice league) and a reason to do it together (already knowing each other and being friends) and you just don’t get that with the new team. other than one training session that went mildly badly and the inherent awkwardness of not having a place to live yet, i don’t buy that they don’t fit in with the team and want to be outsiders? you haven’t even tried? and they haven’t even really been shown to bond amongst themselves aside from brion giving halo an apple when she’s hungry or whatever so 😭 why do you like each other so much
and this is minor but i’ve also noticed that season 3 is obsessed with explicitly reminding us connor used to have anger issues and i’m sure it’s because of the six-year irl gap between s2 and s3 so they wanna refresh us but like dude…. you’re not appealing to the general audience here. the people watching this season are the people who were lobbying for years to get this show back on I KNOW WHAT HAPPENED!!! YOU DONT NEED TO TELL ME every single time brion gets mad that connor used to be like that i knowwww you can just SHOW the way connor instantly connects with and understands him more i promise i would get it
