A holy fig or peepul tree growing on the trunk of a rain tree. I first spotted this about 2 years ago. It has now grown into what you can see now. The roots must have taken hold and it will not start growing rapidly. In a few years time the roots will descend to the earth and will send roots into the soil. Over time the fig tree will grow and engulf the rain tree and strangle it. The fig tree will complete and win for nutrition that is required by both trees to survive. Legend has it that Siddhartha meditated under a #Bodhi tree before he got enlightened. Hence he became #Buddha, the Bodhi tree is the #Peepul tree aka #ficusreligiosa found all over India and South East Asia. . New life, new leaf... . Every leaf has its own pace of growth. . My lovely 2 Peepul Trees, one of my own and another adopted and fostered by me. . . Just like how children (and people) have their own pace of growing - as a nurturer - 'acceptance' of this pace is important. . I work and coach pre-teens/teens (adolescents) and each one of them are so unique and so different from each the other, and that's what makes them all beautiful, together!!! . My plant babies too, have their own pace of growth. And it intrigues me. . When one Peepul tree is full, lush and wild this year (the last few pics) , the other one has just began its growth. And I have absolutely no guessing how it will grow and how much... . "Life" is amazing! . .
