Peeta Pan fic...reblog if you like this excerpt and I'll write more!

Well, I did this against my better judgement, but this story was itching to be written.

So, with that in mind, here's a little snippet of the story so far. This is literally all I've written so far, so if you like it, please tell me/like/reblog, whatever floats your boat.

Please note that the below scene (and indeed, the fic, should it ever be written) has been adapted from the 2003 film, Peter Pan. This is probably one of my favourite films, and as I discovered the other day when rewatching it, I still kind of know it off by heart.

All rights go to JM Barrie, the makers of Peter Pan, and Suzanne Collins for her wonderful characters.

Anyway, enough rambling. Enjoy!

Peeta hovered above the bed of the thirteen-year-old girl, observing her as she lay asleep.

He had been watching her and her family for weeks now, but this was the first time he had seen her up close - and he was well and truly enchanted.

Her hair, black as a crow’s wing, spilled luxuriously onto her pillow, and Peeta’s fingers itched to touch it, but he knew he must not wake her lest his secret be revealed.

Instead, he took to focusing on her other features. Her eyelashes, which were long, thick and dark. Her soft, olive skin, which had as yet not succumbed to the ravages of adolescence. Lips that were pink as a newly opened rose, and so impossibly full that Peeta yearned to touch them, to see if they were real.

So, very gently, he drew one dirt-encrusted finger towards her mouth, touching her lips ever so slightly before drawing away.

But it was too late. Her eyes suddenly fluttered open, and despite his sudden alarm, Peeta noted their colour – a piercing shade of grey.
