Felix is terrified of wearing the dunce cap at school. Hetty favors cousin Andrew which makes things worse. No matter how hard he studies, he forgets everything the minute Hetty challenges him, and he ends up with the dunce cap.

Meanwhile, Peg Bowen is known as the Witch of Avonlea gets into an argument with Janet King when she "trespasses" on their property. Janet forbids Peg to step foot on the King farm again, and Peg retaliates by putting a curse on their cat.

Later, Felix is worried about his cat, and facing Hetty again. He tells his parents about the dunce cap, Alec is calm about it, but Janet is not and she and Hetty get into an argument about her teaching styles.

Will Felix every conquer his fear of the dunce cap? Will his cat ever recover from Peg Bowen's curse?

When I was a kid, I used to watch that animated Anne of Green Gables show. It made Peg Bowen a pretty prominent character, feared by the kids but often the voice of wisdom to them. Anyway, she’s ostracized for living alone in the woods and wearing pants, with Diana even calling it “so queer.” Marilla, while disapproving of her attributing to magic what was just herbal knowledge, was one of the few people who did not think she was a witch. And recall that Marilla is also an unmarried woman living on a farm with her bachelor brother. I’m just saying that looking back, I think she and Peg were exes with the potential to rekindle the flame
