Hey!! Can I have some Sharon&Tony fam moments, specifically because Peggy invited Sharon and her gf Nat to dinner and Tony came bc reasons. I just wanna see the dynamics between Sharon, Tony and Peggy. Thanks either way also the anon who hates your writing,,, has really bad taste lmao
i’m very interested in this prompt! thanks for sending it in, and thank you for the nice compliment!
Sharon had been dating Nat for all of six months when she suddenly got a call from Peggy.
“Bring your girlfriend to dinner,” she said. “We’re having Italian, Tony’s cooking. I’ll see you at seven.”
And that’s the entire phone call. Peggy had never much cared for phone calls, and only makes them to announce what she needs/wants, what the goal for the day is, and then hangs up.
Sharon hasn’t even had dinner with her parents to introduce Natasha.
(They know about her, but her mother is insisting on calling them “close friends.” Her father just straight-up wants to know if Natasha can golf, and whether or not she can beat his enemy golfer, Richard. Also, if she can hold her liquor. He’s not going to be meeting her for a while.)
So this is a bit nerve-wracking for both parties.
Sharon because she’s not entirely sure what Peggy is going to be doing, or why Tony is cooking. Aunt Angie is usually the one who takes over the kitchen and creates such beautifully-tasting meals that it would make the Pope cry.
(Angie actually brags about this to the picture of John Paul II that she’s hung up on the fridge as a joke.)
Natasha, however, is terrified that she’s going to be put six feet under for even looking at Sharon.
It’s not a well-kept secret that Peggy is one of the most terrifying agents for a reason.
-
This does not translate when Natasha is at the front door with her girlfriend and Agent Carter answers the door in a very-obviously-handmade sweater with a teddy bear holding a bouquet of flowers knitted on the front.
“Your Aunt Angie is having fun out of ‘retirement’,” Peggy says, using air quotes. “I think you may be getting cross-stitched Christmas stockings by the end of November.”
Sharon grins, going in for a hug.
“Hey, Aunt Peg. Thanks for dinner tonight.”
“Don’t thank that old bat, thank me instead!” Tony yells from the kitchen. His apron has flaming skulls with crossbones lovingly hand-painted. “Look what Angie made!”
“Very creative,” Natasha says, raising her eyebrows.
“I’m getting into AC/DC,” Angie says,entering the kitchen. “I think they’re neat!”
“Neat,” Sharon responds, shrugging. “Tony, you never cease to amaze me.”
“Trip told me that I couldn’t convince her to like rock music,” Tony teases. His attention refocuses on Natasha. “Natasha Romanoff, nice to finally meet you. It’s been ages since I’ve seen you.”
Sharon’s eyebrows raise.
“You’ve seen her before? Nat, what’d you do?”
“Classified, darling,” Peggy says with a wink. (In reality, not that classified: Natasha just had an extra assignment to check in on Peggy’s favorite nephew.)
-
They all sit down in the family room, Sharon sinking into the couch. Natasha is trying to remain as prim and proper as she can, at least until Tony laughs.
“Nat, it’s fine. Peggy won’t kill you in the house. Too much clean-up.”
That actually does relax her.
Peggy smiles fondly.
“So, how did you two meet?” She asks.
-
The actual story: Sharon wasn’t supposed to go on a mission. But she fell asleep in the car that was used to transport Natasha to the venue, and ended up being a help.
Natasha was entertained by this woman who had slept in the car, thinking that she’d be up in twenty minutes, but was not.
-
“We met by chance in the office,” Sharon says. “She asked me for coffee, I accidentally got the location wrong. We walked to meet in the middle and instead got the best dinner I’ve ever had.”
Natasha grins.
Peggy and Angie smile.
“Sharon, you are still so bad at lying,” Angie remarks in a ‘how-cute-is-that’ tone. “You get it from Peggy.”
Peggy looks affronted.
“I’m not that bad at lying.”
“Neither am I!” Sharon defends.
Tony and Angie share a look.
“Yes you are,” they say in sync.
“You always move your legs when you lie,” Tony says. “Just an observation.”
Natasha laughs.
She tells them the story.
Peggy cackles. As it turns out, she had done the same thing in one of Howard’s cars once.
-
As they sit down to dinner, Natasha feels comfortable talking with her aunts and her cousin, and they laugh together.
“We’ll have to do this again,” Tony says, fondly.
“And this time, you invite Rhodey,” Sharon says.
“Oh come on,” Tony says, rolling his eyes. “He’s just a friend. I’m fairly sure he’s just a really comfortable straight guy.”
“Oh sure, he’s a really comfortable straight guy who stares twenty-four/seven at your ass,” Natasha mutters under her breath as they wave goodbye to Angie and Peggy.
“He does not,” Tony hisses.
“He does. I’m scared of that,” Sharon says. “So go cook him dinner and then ask if he wants to get ice cream and then maybe ask him out. He’ll probably say yes.”
“No he won’t.”
“You’re stupid,” Natasha says. “I don’t care if you just revolutionized green technology for the second time in a year, you’re still the stupidest person I’ve ever met.”
Tony huffs, but gets into his car. He rolls down the window to flip them off. Sharon responds in kind, and Natasha blows a kiss.
They giggle together as his tail lights jet away into the dark of the night sky, and they’re left alone. The porch light is illuminating Natasha’s face, showing how striking her green eyes really are.

The dance hall was packed, as it usually is on a Saturday evening, but it’s been ages since the last time Peggy can remember going the hall on her own time as opposed to the SSR’s time or or worse, Stark’s time.
They danced well into the night, stopping occasionally for drinks or to embarrass some brute of a man who’d been drooling at them from afar. By the time the dance hall cleared out, Peggy felt lighter than she had in years - well before Steve died.
“This has been wonderful, Angie,” She said, walking into the cold, crisp night air. “Thank you.”
“Anytime, English. I never would’a guessed you’d be such a ducky shincracker on the dance floor!”
“I beg your pardon?”
“You know,” Angie smiled slyly and held her hand out, painted nails glowing in the dim light of a street lamp. “A good dancer.”
“Ah,” Peggy clasped it and returned the expression. “Well then. You’re not such a bad ducky shincracker yourself.”
Wow I really love your writing and I was wondering if you would ever consider writing modern au cartinelli it's okay if you don't though!
You are very sweet, thank you! Also, again, sorry this took forever, and also also I’ve never written this pairing, so please go easy on me. Also also also, Angie is coming back soon!!! :D
Peggy sags with a sigh into the booth, her feet tired and sore. She almost puts her head on the table, but she resists, just barely.
“Long day, English?”
Even though the answer to the question is a resounding yes, which should give her the right to frown and pout and sigh, the sound of the familiar voice brings a smile to her face.
“Hey, Angie. And yes. Some times I feel like it’s still the 40′s and I’m expected to answer phones and take notes during meetings.”
“Hon, I completely understand. Men are awful. Just the other day, this guy waltzed in here and would not leave me alone. He even had the nerve to touch my ass. I was about to smack him in the head for it, but my boss walked by, and you know how much I need this job. So I didn’t do anything. I spit in his food though.”
Peggy doesn’t know whether to laugh at Angie’s last comment or get angry on her behalf and know exactly who this man is so she can track him down and smack him herself, and perhaps make it impossible to reproduce. She laughs though, and makes a note to ask Angie details about the man later. Peggy is great at finding people, of course the Internet makes that easy.
“I’m sure he deserved much worse than a smack in the head or saliva in his food. If he comes in again, tell me, and I’ll take care of him.”
Angie smiles and shakes her shoulders as if she’s shivering. “Ohhh, Pegs, hearing you being all badass and commanding gives me chills.”
There’s a loud clearing of a throat a few feet behind them, and Angie rolls her eyes. “Anyway, usual today?” Angie asks.
“Yes, please.”
“Alright, English. I’ll bring it right out.” Angie gives Peggy a wink and disappears into the kitchen.
Peggy finds herself watching Angie as she walks away, completely mesmerized and taken with her. She has for a while, which is why she has a “usual” order. If Peggy were as badass as Angie claims, she would have asked Angie out ages ago. But, she never can bring herself to do it. Too nervous, scared, worried she shouldn’t ask while Angie is at work… but Angie is always at work, and it’s the only place Peggy ever sees her.
The least Peggy could do is ask for her number, but the same reasons to not ask her out come to mind.
~
When Angie comes to bring Peggy her food, she also sets down a bottle of opened beer next to the plate.
“What’s this?” Peggy asks, looking up at Angie, who despite the hours she spends on her feet in an apron, still manages to look beautiful and happy.
“Come on, English, I thought you were smart with your fancy marketing degree. It’s a beer, what’s it look like?”
Peggy shakes her head, a fond smile on her face. “I know what it is, why are you bringing it out?”
Angie shrugs, “It looked like you could use a drink.”
“I really shouldn’t.”
“Why not? It’s Friday. Besides, it’s on the house. And it’s open so I can’t take it back,” Angie says with a wide grin.
“Fine. Alright. If you insist.”
“I do.” Angie gives her a small nod and smile and leaves again, only to return ten minutes later, her own beer and plate of food in hand. She sets them both down on the table in front of Peggy and slides into the booth across from Peggy.
“Alright if I join you?” Angie asks.
“Of course. You’re always welcome. Are you on break?”
“Nah, my shift ended, but I figured I’d eat with you before I head home.”
Peggy smiles at lets her hopes get up a little bit. Angie is officially off the clock, now might be her chance.
~
They talk while they eat and drink. Angie tells her about how she’s thought about being a waitress at that dinner where they all have to sing and dance on the tables because she’s heard some people have made their breaks that way, and Peggy assures her she could make her break some other way surely because she’s heard the food at that diner is awful.
Before long, there’s definitely more than two empty beer bottles on the table, and suddenly Peggy finds herself pressed against Angie’s side when Angie moves to her side of the booth to show her a picture on her phone. It’s warm and pleasant, and maybe it’s the beers, but Peggy finds herself asking what she’d been meaning to ask for months.
“It’s rather late, Angie. Your coworker keeps giving us the stink-eye,” she says nodding towards one of the waitresses.
Angie shrugs her shoulders. “Don’t care. Although, this booth is not that comfortable.”
“Would you... would you rather go somewhere else?”
Angie turns her head to face Peggy, their faces closer than Peggy had realized, but neither of them are pulling away. “Like where?” Angie asks, eyes innocent.
“Well, we could... I don’t know if you’d want to... I mean if you’d rather go home, thats fine, but--”
“Out with it, English!”
“You could come home with me?” Peggy blurts out.
Angie smiles. “Yeah? What would we do when we get there?” Her eyes still portray an air of innocence, but Peggy can tell they are anything but.
“We could talk... or do something else?”
“I might like the something else... maybe something like this?”
After she says it, she leans further into Peggy’s space, and Peggy unconsciously holds her breath as Angie gets closer. When Angie finally presses her lips to Peggy’s, Peggy lets out a tiny gasp before quickly kissing back. Their lips move against each other, and there’s only a little bit of tongue before Angie pulls back with a grin.
“I quite like that something,” Peggy says, surprised at how breathless she sounds for how quick their kiss was.
“Good. Come on,” Angie says, sliding out of the seat and pulling on Peggy’s hand to follow her. “We’ll catch a cab.” Peggy willingly goes, her lips curling up in a smile.
They stop at the counter, and Angie turns to Peggy. “You don’t have plans tomorrow, do you?”
“No, not really.”
Angie nods, pleased. “Hey, Mel, I’m taking tomorrow off!” She shouts in the direction of the kitchen. There’s a grunt of acknowledgment, and then Angie is dragging Peggy outside to hail a cab.
“Why’d you take off for tomorrow?” Peggy asks, slightly confused but also a little excited at how things are progressing so far.
“I’ve been into you for months, Pegs, and I’m planning on spending all day in bed with you tomorrow. If that’s all right with you, of course?”
Peggy blushes and nods. “More than, actually.”
Angie smiles and pecks Peggy on the lips just as a cab pulls up to them. “Come on then, English. We’re wasting time.” She takes Peggy’s hand and opens the cab door for them both to climb into.
And maybe Peggy tips the driver more than necessary for ignoring them making out like teenagers.
