Peggy let out a gentle groan as she leant into her side, her arm falling around the other woman’s shoulder. She winced as the stitches in her side stretched with the movement of her waist, her fingers gripping into Bucky’s shoulder slightly. “Thank you..” She murmured quietly as she leant her head on her shoulder, heading towards her bed.
“Easy,” Bucky said, taking some of Peggy’s weight as they walked. “You’ll be okay, Agent. You just gotta rest, let that gash heal up.”
She pulled back the blankets on Peggy’s cot and helped her to lie down. “You really gave them Krauts what-for,” Bucky said with a grin once Peggy was settled. “Knives or no knives, they’ll think twice ‘fore they go up against you again.”

Bucky offered Agent Carter a sympathetic smile. “Well, Steve seems to have taken a shine to you,” he started, pushing away the petty jealousy he felt for the amazing woman in front of him. “Maybe you’d consider coming to Brooklyn with him. I’m sure he’d absolutely love that.”
He rubbed the back of his neck and ducked his head. “Truthfully, I’m in the same situation. I say I want to go home, but,” he paused and raised his head with a little laugh, “Well, my family has a farm back in Kansas. I could go back to that place.”
