the blockade on kl is probably my favorite running gag in s2. it is certainly preventing all seaside travel to and from the city, except for if you are trying to sneak in and do crime, sneak out and flee, move large groups of people out of the city to supplement the war effort, or send food to the citizenry. but if there’s. uh. any OTHER reason to sail into the city that might exist, well, watch out for the blockade!

the hotd fandom’s reaction to gwayne hightower has been nothing short of baffling to me so far. it’s no secret that people’s love to hate criston cole has been prone to making them miss the point in a major way but this to me is kind of a new level. the idea that he is “slay” or “serving cunt” or even that he legitimately sees through criston and resents him for being a bad person is a stunning misinterpretation of what the show is obviously saying. which is that gwayne hightower is racist. he talks to criston that way because criston is brown. and poor.
