Aww but Piper said Daisy wasn't her type... ☹️
omg ok no joke I stared at that redshirt for an hour trying to figure out whether or not he was our favorite shield dad but in the end I decided... it wasn’t him. AND THEN I SECOND GUESSED MYSELF WHEN I SAW THIS SO I DOUBLE CHECKED AND
I still really do not think this is the same person. if it turns out it IS him though- I will promptly turn in my agent davis fan club membership card.

Love this. Of course while I'm at it I really wish they hadn't killed kendra.

peggystormborn replied to your post “Supergirl Season 3: Is literally about characters beginning in a dark...”
I dunno, if I'm being honest the end of the season left me feeling pretty hopeless for some of the characters. Kara and Mon-El in particular (that dude's life is 100% screwed and my guess is that's the last we'll ever hear from him). But also how things ended with Kara's mom, losing Winn...gaining Brainy who doesn't exactly fill the void...I dunno. I wouldn't say things ended in a hopeful place.
Fair points, but that’s sort of looking at those events from a perspective that doesn’t take into account an entire season’s worth of progress. Winn, for example. I mean, it’s absolutely sad that he’s leaving, but this comes at the end of an arc that has been about Winn trying to figure out where he belongs. He was wasted at CatCo, the DEO was a better fit for his skills, but he had that whole talk with James when he was near-death about things he still wants to do, outside of the DEO and simply being ‘the man in the van.’ Going to the future allows him to do those things.
Even Mon-El and Kara...while I can definitely see that his departure is a downer, they spent a lot of this season focusing on Kara getting over that relationship. Whether or not it was handled well is a whole separate discussion, but it’s telling that Kara started the season refusing to even be Kara because she was so upset about sending Mon-El off to die, but she ends the season reassuring Alex that they’re going to alright. Which is, admittedly, a little bittersweet, but compared with the beginning of the season, it’s a lot more optimistic. (Again, looking at events, not as isolated incidents, but as results of seasons’ worth of story and character arcs.)
Also, re: Mon-El, his whole deal has been about learning to become a selfless hero. He puts the lives of others ahead of his own, which is a huge deal. His arc could not have ended any other way, because it would have negated the entire journey. So, yes, he’s going back to the future, but I don’t know that I’d say he’s like...doomed? He’s going with Winn? And he presumably has other Legionnaires to hang out with? He was there for seven years, so he’s not going back to nothing. This one might be a matter of perspective, I guess. And speculation. XD
As for Alura...I don’t think I’m understanding that one. She’s alive, Argo will be in a more secure position thanks to additional Harun-El, and while I don’t think it was expressly stated in the show, Melissa Benoist mentioned in an interview that Kara feels much better, knowing that her mom is still out there. Another one that might rely more on perspective and speculation!
(And I hope this isn’t coming across as argumentative or rude or anything--that’s not my intention.)
TL;DR - I agree that those are sad things, but not dark things. Characters are changing and growing, but not in a bad way: J’onn wants to reconnect with people, Winn is going to do awesome things in the future, Alura is going to return to Argo with the much needed special rock, Mon-El leaves as a true, selfless Hero™, and the Danvers Sisters, are, in the words of Kara: Going to be O.K. :D
peggystormborn replied to your post: I was just thinking after watching that preview......
Are we more or less in agreement that they didn’t come back by accident? I would assume they prepared the syringe in anticipation of this. Could have gotten the Kryptonite wherever in the future. Hell they could have gone to daxam we know there’s plenty there.
That’s what I was thinking as well! It’d make sense if they actually traveled back to that time on purpose and that’s why they’d be prepared with kryptonite.
This is more for peggystormborn, who turned off her asks (not that I blame her): are we sure Katie left Vancouver after filming and not just for the holidays? Staz left, too, and he's been taking pics of his holiday retreat, like he did last year. (I'm not gunning for Katie or Staz, but I also don't want to get my hopes up.)
@peggystormborn
Don't be jealous, I love your fics too and left comments on AO3 saying so on the one where Kara runs away from marrying James. I just couldn't on Peggy's because she doesn't allow anon comments due to the demonic scourge.
I HAVE WRITTNE MORE THAN THAT ONE!!!! :((((((((
Joking.
@peggystormborn is an awesome writer and I’m happy this bitc... i mean, sis, is getting more recognition. Getting feedback IS super important, after all we write it for other shippers and fans and it’s nice to know people love the stories we produce.
