I haven't read the new chapter of PiaD but I just opened it and realized it says Part 1!! As in you're going to drag out our feelings through 2, TWO, chapters!
Cruel...
I'm sorry, blame my muse who won't stop making me write and write and write because I swear in the name of the writing gods, the chapter had already traipsed past the 16k mark when I finally made the decision to cut it in two... T_T
But the question is, what do you think of daddy Argent??
Daddy indeed. I kid. But Chris, whew Chris. I like him. I mean I know he was threatening to shoot kids (Scott) but he stuck to his code to never hurt innocents. I think so far I like him the most in season 3, here he’s just trying to live his best life with Allison. And then she tells him the new family code and he’s like let’s do that.
Can you believe that I got to cry f-en happy tears at this damn happy ending of a finale???!!! No one died and it's Zombie show!! I'm so happy I'm crying!
I have a parallel request. The Bat talking about killing people to Kate and then Jenn, from Black Lightning, talking about how her father's code of not killing keeps his spirit clean.
Okay. But I’m way behind on Black Lightning, so can you point me to that scene. Where is it in the episode?
Prompt: someone finally celebrates Bonnie's bday and that someone is Kai Parker
So this is a little dumb and very short but it is over 100 words. I really loved this prompt, Bonnie deserves someone who actually wants to celebrate her.
“What’s going on?” Bonnie asked, walking into her kitchen to see Kai standing in the middle of a disaster.
“No!” Kai shouted, pouting, “I wanted to bring you breakfast in bed.”
Bleary eyes focused more until Bonnie saw the disaster for what it was: breakfast, flowers, a card. “You don’t need to make a big deal about my birthday, you know.”
Kai nodded, winding up to a very simple counterpoint, “When was the last time you or any of your so-called friends celebrated your birthday? When you were there, I mean.” He had a point and he knew it. “Exactly, now march your butt back to bed so I can do this right.”
“You’d better not have anything else planned,” Bonnie called back as she humored his instructions.
“Aww,” Kai shouted after her, “It’s cute when you say things you know are wrong.” Bonnie was going to be pampered on her birthday and he was not accepting any arguments on the subject.

Wait, didn’t the French give it to us when the US abolished slavery?
@madeunmexico
Construction began in 1875 - ten years after the end of the Civil War and twelve years after the Emancipation Proclamation.
Actually, by the late 1870s you have the death of Reconstruction gearing up - that is, African American rights, voting, and participation as elected officials was being driven out by white Southern violence and the North getting exhausted with the prolonged internal military and economic challenges. 1876 would see the creepy decision in US v. Cruikshank, which was about the Supreme Court throwing democracy in the South under the bus basically.
If Wikipedia is to be trusted, it looks like early fundraising was during Reconstruction and leaned on the end of slavery angle because people at that point were quite sympathetic on the issue, especially in the North. But it might have just been a PR move to get donations.
So I was reading some fics and I just re-read The Jolly Disaster and was wondering if you are thinking of concluding it? It was so good and salty just enough for this time of year ;)

*sighs*
I’m staring at the opened word document right now. I have written 6 sentences. It’s a progress!….
Seriously, have faith in me and a little more patience. My muse is a bitch and I’m a horrible updater :/
