“Well, things move fast here at the palace. Sink or swim, my friend.” Mathei smiled apologetically to Cassian. “I have found I have an affinity for water,” Cassian said. Peio snorted softly, lowering his gaze from the dome to Cassian’s. Amara rewarded him with a smile. “Great Wheel,” Mathei groaned, “the innuendo in here is suffocating.” He popped up from the couch. “Why am I always subjected to this torture? My prince, my sister, and now my tailor.” He gave Amara a quick wink before he headed for the library doors. He stopped when he reached them, and glanced back. “Are you coming? At least allow me the sanctuary of a solid meal if I have to be forced to watch you make eyes at each other.” Amara’s smile broadened and she laughed, tugging Cassian after her. Peio came too, behind Cassian and Amara. pg.429
"I thought you were going with them," he said, when he caught up. "You are the only clan I have left, Cassian Haydar. And even the roadborn who carry the Wanderer's tears know that the blood of brotherhood has always been stronger than water." pg.358
"My water to yours, Sister River. I am beholden to you. A droplet to the sea, and if you ever have need of me, you need only call my name. I was once Peio Urbina, first son of the Speaker of Clan Urbina. Call, and this Ghost will come." pg.358
