tamper with the deepest mysteries . click . click . click . the sound of black , block - heeled mary janes echoes through the corridor just as it begins to fill up with students proceeding to their next class . the source of life, the essence of self . dark brown eyes are practically glued to a copy of magical theory by adalbert waffling , their beholder easily weaving through the crowd without averting her attention once . there’s a scowl etched upon her features . she can see shoes in her peripheral as she draws near ,  completely still and unmoving . “ move , “  she adjures , never pausing once .

hannah sits in the library, her legs swinging as she sits and looks over the parachment in front of her. “i don’t believe this..” the blonde mutters to herself, “it’s not even been a week and flitwick has already given us homework” she carries on. hannah picks up her quill and sighs, she was really struggling with this work.

The afternoon sun rose above the black lake, it’s light reflecting upon the murky waters. In the distance far across, a lone figure sits upon a large piece of driftwood, remnants of silver smoke coming out of her mouth that she had previously inhaled. she’s aware it's a bad habit, if not fatal but with all that has been happening in the last month, the Triwizard tournament, Cedric Diggory's death, the rising of the Dark Lord, A new DADA teacher to adapt to plus personal problems to boot, quitting cold turkey seems like a far edged dream. She had been so engrossed with her own thoughts, that if it hadn't been for the shadow looming over the pavement, she wouldn't have realized that someone approached. “Did you want one?”

roger flops down next to the other, he’d just had a very strange experience. “you’ll never guess what just happened?!” he tells the other as he runs a hand through his dark hair. “i was making out with this gryffindor lass in the astronomy tower, we stop for a minute and she starts vomiting all over the place” he tells the other, with a grimace. “turns out her friend had slipped her a puking pastille..”.

A youthful, almost infectious laugh e c h o e d down the large staircase that led to the entrance of gryffindor tower. and just a few moments after the sound hit your ears, there came colin bouncing down the steps with a joyful hop to his gait. the fourth year almost slipped from all of the energy he had, but then burst into another fit of laughter at his own ( almost ) blunder. at the sight of another person, he began to calm down and reduced to giggles. “ good morning! ” he happily chirped, “ i was just making my way to breakfast when i remembered that my dad’s package should be arriving today! are you headed to the great hall as well? ”

    t’is torture , not mercy , cho thinks aimlessly , chasing the carrots on her plate with a shiny silver fork. despite wanting to sleep , the girls had persuaded her down to the great hall for dinner. they probably felt proud of themselves for that -- we’re helping poor cho ! but , she’s found that can’t bear to listen to another moment of her friends’ frivolous drivel. she couldn’t care less for the gossip -- who cared what happened over the summer ?

   “ s’cuse me , ” cho suddenly says , swiftly rising from her place on the bench. “ i’m not hungry. ” the ravenclaw moves so quickly , she nearly bumps into someone walking down the aisle. “ oh , ” cho says , eyes moving downcast , “ i’m sorry. ”
