penalty kill
Refs really want New York to win
If you’re going to call interference be fucking consistent
Can you explain power plays, pp goals, and penalty killers?
Power Plays are when Team A commits a penalty and so they have to send the player who committed that penalty (with exceptions) to the penalty box for a set time and is unable to reaplce them on the ice meaning they will be a man down for that time, giving Team B the man advantage on the ice. Team B would have the power play in this situation, generally a 5 vs 4 set up with the intention that it’ll be easier for Team B to score in this allotted time.
PP goals or Power Play Goals are the goals scored during power play time. They are usually abbreviated to PPG and will also be paired with PPP (power play points) and PPA (power player assists). These are given they’re own stat because power plays are a different environment than even strength and usually dictate who is on the power play unit.
Penalty Killers are the players Team A puts onto the ice to stop Team B from scoring. They cannot replace the player who is in the box but they are allowed to have any other players on the ice that they want. Teams usually have Penalty Killing units composed of their best defensive players, generally two forwards and two defensemen in front of their goalie.
