After another hour and probably training another 4-5 times Revolmon. What in the crap?

I don't understand the Cycle and the evolution mechanic. I trained around 50 times yesterday and the day before and today I trained 4-5 times and left him alone and he evolved to Revolmon.

I really actually kind of like the Cycle series but I’m sure I’d like it more if I could get past the child stage.
