Brand Names ideation

To be able to unify my brand identity i decided to brainstorm some quick ideas that i could use as a brand name. Due to the concept of my idea being about Gen Z disconnecting from the online world i initially started to look into words that could also represent this concept. I also thoguht about how i could use the ideas of the merchandise being collectables and little companions. However , i did stary to realise that it is best for me to stick to the name that best represents the idea of disconnecting from the online world.

After completing this ideation i have decided to use the name Penguin Disconnected as it is the best fitting for the my concept.

Playlist Mock up applied to the presentation

here, i have added my mock ups to my presentation and provided a brief description of what they are and how they connect in with the merchandise. These desgins have worked well with the rest of the presentation, this is through the continuous and cohesive use of the brand identity.

To showcase the thumbnails in context i placed them within a music streaming app mock up. These designs work well as a collective as they are cohesive and present the brand identity well.

Playlist Thumbnail Designs

Using my brand identity i created a series of thumbnails that would be used within the playlist options within a music streaming app. These designs have worked well as they stick to the brand identity and they also have a clear use of hierarchy to show the name of playlist as well as incorporating the brand name to keep it in context.

Now that i have these designs i will then apply them to a mock up so that i am able to present them in context within my presentation.

Responding to Feedback

In response to the feedback i received during today's presentation i went back into my presentation pages and applied a tagline. I also went back to my pattern design and created an outline rather then having it as a solid icon.

I then applied the pattern to my packaging, immediately after doing this i found that it helps to unify the packaging designs as they all resemble one another. I also minimised the offline logo within the label strip to allow room for it to breathe.

Although these changes are small they do make a big difference in terms of making the designs look more cohesive.

I have decided to take on Rich's feedback about focusing more on the idea of the consumer buying one audio player that is chosen by themselves and then incorporating a QR code to allow the access to the playlists. I intend to re-word my presentation board and create a mock up that shows how the brand identity will be applied to the playists.

Final Presentation Feedback

Today, I showcased my presentation to a selection of my class as well as Rich and Mark Sephton, shown above is the feedback that I received from both Rich and Mark Sephton.

This crit was helpful to me as I was able to receive feedback on smaller features of my presentation and also my brand design that will help it come together ready for hand in.

From this feedback I intend to make the smaller changes such as adding a tagline to the initial page as well as make the smaller changes to the packaging to help refine it down reach for hand in.

I am very much so on the fence about re-designing the audio players as I have need to consider other elements of the unit that might need more attention. If I do have time then I would like to experiment more with it.
