Tech School

I've been going back and forth on this for a while now. I hate school so much, I love to learn new things, but I hate school. I already have a bachelors of biology, but I really want to work closely with animals. While there are some jobs that I can get with the degree that I have, I think that given what I already do, being a vet assistant, it'll be more job security for me to become a registered tech. I've signed up with Penn Foster, which in part makes more sense given the current state of things, and I can't afford to take a financial hit of cutting my hours for school - which also makes it so that I don't have a lot of time to do my school work, so it's good that the deadlines are made by me.

Just got 100% on my ecology essay! 

Something I’ve learned and might even say struggle with in school is classes or lessons in topics that do not relate to my degree. I totally understand that there is a certain level of education someone with each degree level needs to have, but for me, i find these classes “boring”. Now, I put quotes around boring for a reason. Personally, I find ecology quite an important and interesting subject and I can see why people are majoring in ecology, however, when it isn’t your major, it is quite boring and time consuming. It is a topic with many concepts and terms to learn so you must spend time with it to get good grades, but that can make studying feel VERY SLOW. Though I may never explain the indirect and direct values of an ecosystem to client, I’m still glad I have that knowledge base. 

If you are currently struggling through a class for the same reason, just think that when you get through it, your degree with be worth taking the time to get good grades.

Did a ton of job applications. I sent some in to local Emergency hospitals because I really really have a passion to work in the veterinary ER. (I’m just waiting for a call to be returned!)
