@pennyoneill;
Emma’s tactic for survival and sanity at this school is to do what she needs to do and keep to herself. Though, she completely forgets to factor in that some people might want to gravitate towards her in that equation and it’s really fucking her up. Why would she think to include it? It’s not like she’s the most approachable person in the world or anything. In fact, she thinks she very specifically gives off a ‘fuck off and leave me alone’ vibe. But who knows, maybe she’s not trying hard enough at being an edgy loner bitch.
She’s beginning to think that maybe it has to do with her involvement in class but she isn’t going to jeopardize her grades just to keep up an image. Like, that’s pointless. Also, it’s 2019. She can be a hard bitch and a know-it-all. It’s not mutually exclusive. One girl in particular is really grinding her gears. This Penny chick who seems to have taken a liking to her. She’s just glad she’s out of that class and on her way to her first Speech and Debate meeting which will hopefully help her relieve some stress. Nothing like a good argument to let the tension leave her body.
What she doesn’t expect when she walks into the designated club space is to see Penny there. Or the back of Penny’s head specifically. Because why the fuck would she? She left that classroom hoping she never had to see Penny again outside of it. But the Lord works in mysterious ways or whatever shit it is they say at this school. Emma sucks in a breath and hopes to go unnoticed as she ventures further into the room, head down and striding straight towards a seat she hopes is inconspicuous. Maybe if she does some stupid shit like ‘believe’ she can’t be seen then she won’t be.
