Sorachi's Character Pack for Dr. Robotnik's Ring Racers
Over the past two months I've been working on porting over my SRB2Kart characters to Dr. Robotnik's Ring Racers, and all 10 of them have been fully ported and approved for release!
Everyone has been adjusted to drive the new karts and have received lots of little improvements, with Asha and Pepelogoo also receiving a complete resprite! You can download them in the link below!
My SRB2Kart character pack returns for Dr. Robotnik's Ring Racers! All 10 of the previous characters I've made for SRB2Kart, from Asha to It
Asha and her Pepelogoo from Wonder Boy in Monster World 4 for the Sega Genesis~
I can now say I've beaten every Wonder Boy game! MW4 is a pretty interesting specimen making a lot of tweaks to game mechanics that you really dont expect out of old platformers, like enemies not doing damage to you unless they are actively attacking (bumping into them just bounces you off).
Game design docs and a few glitches left in the game seem to suggest the game was originally intended to be *far* more expansive than what we got, but it was still really fun.
My uncritical ranking of the Wonder Boy games is probably:
Wonder Boy Dragons Trap (remake in particular, beautiful art and music, super solid and fun game)
Wonder Boy in Monster World (most adventure)
Monster World 4 (best gameplay)
Monster Boy (overall very solid, but never hits the highs of the games above it for me)
Wonder Boy in Monster Land (SEGA Master system)
[And then for the ones i dont think are good]
Wonder Boy in Monster Land (Arcade - better graphics, enemy spam is bullshit, designed to eat quarters)
Wonder Boy (way WAY too repetitive, but nostalgia is strong. and i love the few songs it has. SEGA Master System version is the best though)
Wonder Boy III (the shmup. its just a bad shmup. Like really bad. the weapon power ups last all of like 10 seconds and almost all of them are awful and none of the enemy design is fun)
I was fortunate enough to have played through Wonder Boy: Asha in Monster World, the remake of a niche little game called Monster World IV, from a niche little series known as Wonder Boy/Monster World.
There's a Pepelogoo in my pizza.
Pizza Tower's an awesome game, and seeing a Pizza Tower guest star crossover fad going on on Twitter gave me an opportunity to try emulating another style.
