Across the street from Resorts World is Peppermill, a diner that is open 24-7 on the weekends but still has pretty generous hours the rest of the week. We ended up here after realizing that none of the other food stalls at Resorts World would be opening up for the evening, and it was cool visiting a place with such history. (The menu notes that everything from Casino to Giada’s Weekend Getaways were filmed here, which cracks me up.)

I need to specify the level of doneness I want with my scrambled eggs, because the ones I got were pretty hammered, but otherwise the food was solid and the portions generous. I got a Harvey Wallbanger as a drink--a screwdriver with the addition of the liqueur Galliano--and it felt very appropriate for the moment as it was actually on the cocktail menu.

It was a nice break from all of the decadence that surrounds you in this town--this place is low-key and casual where you can tuck into a Reuben or a plate of eggs to your heart’s content. If we end up staying at RW again, I would definitely come back here.
