@the-mind-of-xelyn || Peppermint Connor comes to visit his new neighbors!
It was a recent development that Connor-40 found himself living on his own. He was the one who made the decision, sort of. His choice had only been made after he’d been told in precise terms that he wasn’t welcome to live with Hank and Detective Connor forever (to his dismay at the time,) but now he was getting used to it. Whatever the circumstances that led to his current state of affairs, he was glad for it. While he had been initially terrified of even a cursory level of independence, now, he was growing more and more accustomed to it.
He hummed happily as he cleaned his already clean apartment in New Jericho’s living quarters, taking special care to wipe down a little ceramic cactus he’d picked up the other day, with the intention of gifting it to Detective Connor, when he saw him again. The little living space was sparse, decorated here and there with the things he’d collected; a watercolor painting he’d done himself hung on the wall adjacent to his kitchen, a bright purple orchid was thriving on his countertop, with a little cactus beside it, and his couch was covered with a bright blue throw blanket and two light blue pillows to compliment.
It was fair to say he was rather pleased with himself and his accomplishments, as well as the help he’d received along the way. “No man is an island entire of itself,” he read recently. The line resonated with him, inspired him to reach out, and oddly, encouraged him further into his budding sense of independence. It was with this in mind, and considering that he had not yet introduced himself to every single one of his neighbors, that he left his apartment in pursuit of new acquaintances.
The door directly to his left was a great place to start, as good as any, so he knocked, politely. A timid looking android with large scars across his face answered the door, and Connor answered back with a broad smile. “Hello! My name is Connor. I’m your new neighbor. It’s very nice to meet you,” he smiled warmly, completely unabashed.
