When I was a little girl, whenever I would come to visit my grandma, I could always find one of these giant peppermint sticks somewhere in her room. One time, she had one tacked to the wall, inside a paper card. It had been up there so long that it had actually melted onto the wall and the red color had begun to run. Lol. I remember them being much shorter and fatter than this, but seeing this made me stop and think of her. A few memories ran across my mind that made me both laugh and tear up. I miss my grandmother, especially around the holidays. I have no more grandparent on this side of the dirt, but I'm grateful for the memories that have of them. Strangely enough, those memories, even through my tears, brought me peace. Love you Ella Mae James aka Grandma Noot. I miss you and Hamp.
